yah i need to get my netbook back from my mother, one annoyance about using a tethered laptop is it saves the images to the laptop and rinses the camera battery. also i dont think my 10" eeepc fits in my kata 3n1 which is kinda annoying.

Through Photomatix, with 3 pictures where one has a exposure that is set to +2 and one with -2 and one without any setting.

Or in short, HDR.

A friend of mine gave me a macro lens today, but whenever i attach it to the camera and click the photo button, it comes up with a pop-up on the little LCD-screen saying: "No lens attached. Shutter is locked."
I'm really a noob at this camera thing, since i got my first SLR-camera last week. The camera is a Sony A230, but i have no idea what the macro lens is called, and i don't really know how to find out. I would be really happy, if you guys could tell me whats wrong, and maybe how to fix it.(:

Is the lens old? Because if it is, it most likely doesn't have auto-focus. On the left side of your camera there is a small wheel with different functions. (P, S, A and M) You need to switch it to M (manual). From there you need to find your way to perfect exposure and aperture.

Would you guys be interested in a huge thread dedicated to newbie photographers? It would cover all the basic settings like shutter speed, aperture and iso and I would give tips on lots of things. This is more aimed at the beginner photographers but still, you might learn stuff

I agree. I find myself repeating the advice I give to people quite frequently here.

I think a nice big sticky would be great. It would have examples of the mistakes many beginners make, and how to improve upon that. I could help write, if this goes anywhere.
