if anything that helps raise the point further.
My "whitebox" was a complete failure :v:

Wow, super impressive thread, gonna take a look thru it all !
Was Playing around with HDR's today, My first Real attempt. Not the best but, Eh I need a better scene to test it on. And my favorite one was sorta ruined by Nature (Bloody moving leaves causing ghosting!) But I'll post them anyway.
I'm not going to post thumbs of them because in total it's 141 mb and I don't want to kill any browsers, So I'll just post links.

Not really sure if I want to see lousy quality 15mb png's
any C&C for those fireworks pics and tips to improve (iirc there are more tonight) the things that are obvious to me is finding a better location and using a wider lens, how do you focus to infinity with either the kit lens or 50mm?

Why would you do a HDR one those pictures? HDR is used to merge 3 pictures with different exposures to get a picture that is properly exposed. You used a decently enough exposed picture and made it into a HDR picture where the HDR in the first place isn't even noticable, and second you didn't even need to make an HDR from it because your picture didn't have over-exposed highlights.
I would suggest using the HDR technique only on pictures that really need it.

First time I ever handled an SLR, I think I did alright.
Taken on an EOS 500D.
f/3.5, 1/99s exposure, 23mm focal, ISO-400, manual mode.
[editline]04:40PM[/editline]
It's not really creative.

So I decided to play around with my extermely old photo in photoshop and lightroom a bit.
So whats your opinion? Am I making the photo even worse by over editing or what?
Oh also, sorry for the lens flare. I took this mabye 3 years ago or something, and stupidly pointed it right at the sun.
I think you made it a tiny bit better, it's not very good yet though.
Also had some fun with a friend and some lighting+photoshop magic, the BG is shit, I know.

Shot in studio btw

Oh okay good. I know it's not the best photo, I was just trying to get a feel of if I'm editing things the right way.
A simple re-frame would make it look better:

Of course I have nothing to feel the void with, but you get the idea. It's not very interesting anyway, apart from the shadow play
If you desaturated it, it'd look like any recent fps game

what's a good image uploading site besides imgur.com? they jpeg rape each picture.
oh and plus points for an uploader that actually flips the pictures.
Dropbox is the best everything uploader. Seriously.

my wide angle lens distorts pretty badly. i need a new one. any suggestions?
Tokina 11-16 or the worse sigma 10-20
By the way, that flower picture isn't that great. It's good that you moved the flower to the right of the frame, but all the stems are really distracting and are cluttering shit up.
It's better to keep your picture simple.
Hello dear creative photography thread-people! :D
I'm going to take pictures with the theme "hope", and I'm ...stuck. I got a few ideas, but I would love input from others
Dropbox is slow, flickr is the best.
It's slow.
I've experienced a lot of times where dropbox images took ages to load.
That's not a favela.
The thing is, that's a relatively new neighbourhood (first houses showed up 3 years ago there) and this city has a nice thing: if your house isn't painted properly, you pay 80% less taxes for it.
That means nobody gives a shit about their ugly houses
Haha! That is so cool! I would love to walk around in that town! You don't live there, do you?
Dropbox is slow, flickr is the best.
It's vice versa.
Dropbox is amazingly fast.
Flickr is decently fast.
Dropbox is way faster than Flickr for me. It uploads pictures almost instantly. This also is due to a fast upload speed on my connection.
I wasn't talking about upload speed
Download speed comparison, same image went faster on Dropbox. (30 000 x 9000 pixel panorama)

I love how the water ends up looking in your shots. I've noticed some of the other stuff you've posted a while back. Seems like you have a pretty high budget, background story? do you work for someone?
