massive fucking storms here. 80mph winds, trees and debris in the streets, fences missing. And me 'n holly went jumping on my trampoline in the gale-force downpouring rain, sleet and thunder. When the "calm before the storm" hit, she hit the swing, I hit my camera. Clouds weren't too detailed except for this tear in the sky- (looks like bad white balance, but that's really what it looked like) :c00l: also, I tried my hand at catching some lightning when the storm died down enough to actually see through my window again. Any tips from people who know what they're doing with lightning photography? I just did manual bulb exposure and made a few lucky guesses. Do you happen to live in Illinois?
Yeah, right at the north border. I'm sure if you know Great America (in Gurnee), I'm about 10 minutes north-west of there.
Yeah I've been hearing of some pretty crazy storms going on there right now. Here in Atlanta it's as usual, 97 degrees all day, everyday. The simple act of walking outside turns you into a raisin.
Finally got around to posting the shots from the funeral. Bleh, sorry I've been such a downer about this stuff today. Long story short, Linds had this couch that all of her friends would sign. Her mom knew her all too well and made sure to follow suit and make it way more personal. bonus content, my signing. God, I hate my handwriting, though it stands out quite crisp amongst the other scrawlings. Still, writing on textured felt with a sharpie is hard enough on its own. Photoshop or Lightroom?
Photoshop or Lightroom?
Lightroom hands down. Why bother messing around in photoshop doing something that can be done faster and non destructively in Lightroom?
Photoshop or Lightroom?
Lightroom for me, Photoshop is usually for proper professional photographers and is quite time consuming, and since this is only a hobby, why waste time when Lightroom is much simpler
photoshop is for when you want to actually change the image, lightroom is for changing levels and that kind of stuff (basically all you need to do to a photo usually). You'll find the new one even has options for barrel distortion removal.

Just got Lightroom the other day. Experimenting with old photos.
Is lightroom worth it if you already have a good working knowledge of Photoshop Extended?
It's pretty much exactly like the RAW image editing in Photoshop except with a few extra features, nicer design, and better organisation. If you're going to be editing a lot of photos, it's worth it I rekon. Experimenting with more old photos.
Is lightroom worth it if you already have a good working knowledge of Photoshop Extended?
yes
comparison
I like how it removed this... misty feel of the original. [editline]09:39AM[/editline] Any tips for treating pictures taken with build-in flash?
Is lightroom worth it if you already have a good working knowledge of Photoshop Extended?
I'd say so, I have Lightroom and I always find the need to use it for RAW files. [editline]11:01AM[/editline]
It's pretty much exactly like the RAW image editing in Photoshop except with a few extra features, nicer design, and better organisation. It seems so much better with a darker feel to it.

[editline]09:39AM[/editline] Any tips for treating pictures taken with build-in flash?
TTL flash metering likes to overmeter it for me, so by default I usually put it down at least one stop. This usually is the best I can do for some fill flash. I've been saving up for a set of off camera strobes, gels, stands, wires and umbrellas
