The fuck is up with your frame lol?
If you had made the bike the subject, with the graffiti in the background, it would make the picture 10x better. What you have is just an empty background.
Nice on the dude dangling btw.
i'm a bit gimp sometimes with the framing and whatnot
what you said makes sense, i'll probably re do it on another sunny day.
also it's me :D
lol meant the bike ;)

I went to the Natural History Museum yesterday to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.
It was great - as usual.

^^ My favorite of the set is the first; it has the most interesting lighting and angle of them all. I'm no expert by any means so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I would try to find some subject matter that really stands out.....perhaps a statue or something. It seems like you have an interest in architectural photography, so try to find interesting lines and decor on the buildings to really liven up your shots. I hope that helped some!
I was feeling "abstract" today, so I went out and experimented with the macro lens....I never realized how many cool patterns and textures were on the back porch:

This is nice, I love the light highlighting the flowers. Although I think this suffers from the all to common 'no real subject' - it's an empty background.

The first one has an interesting composition, but it was compromised by the top corner being out of frame. I would have either got the whole top, or had it so the other side of the roof is out of frame too. The second one has that crippling 'snapshot' aesthetic. The third one is underexposed on the sign, and the sky is overexposed. Fourth needs a faster shutter speed and a more level frame, work on composition too. Fifth one, subject is overpowered by background, resulting in the 'no real subject' problem, underexposed as well. The last one is a neat little double exposure, but that wall on the left just absolutely killed the composition.

First one looks a tad overdone on the post processing, and to be frank it looks like a picture a 13 year old girl would take. Second one I don't really know what to say about it, its interesting. Third one, with those 'texture filling the entire image' shots, you need to be really, really precise with composition, as that is all it has. It has a downward slant to the right, which makes it look off. It looks good though. Last one is too empty. I know you're going for that simplistic abstract effect, but it's too... I don't know, flat.

As I've said before, no 'real' subject. I know when you're at the zoo takin pics of monkeys there isn't much you can do about that, but like I said earlier, the background is overtaking the subject. The texture on the rocks came out very nice though.

My Dog's First Birthday
Dog is in the shadows/underexposed. If you had taken this shot with, what I assume is, the window behind you and the dog facing you, you would have a much better image.
Sorry if I came off a little harsh or insulting, what I said is meant to give you guys something to work with, some points to improve upon. I tried to be as constructive as possible.

Thanks for quoting bopie!
I loved the lighting too. It's so beautiful in the afternoon in those woods.
I have a couple more with some sort of subject or point where your eye naturally falls, but I kinda liked the fact that it didn't.
Just sort of get lost in the trees - much as in real life.
New to photography, Would like some feedback on them :D
Though some of these photos are quite old

@bopie: I agree with the post-processing on the first one; I converted it to monochrome because the colors were just really unappealing. I don't agree with the "13 year old girl" comment though....there are many, many photos of flowers in black and white because it reveals the different tones and textures of the subject vividly.
The second picture was shot through a stained glass window and was originally monochrome(I was experimenting with the camera). I added just a touch of antiquing and upped the exposure some.
Again, I agree with the third picture....I haven't bought a tripod yet so I had to bend over and hold the camera to get that view. Plus, I was using a macro lens so the depth of field was a little tricky.
Lol...the fourth picture is actually the one I'm most proud of. Oh well, thanks for the CC though; composition and framing seem to be the aspects of photography I have the most trouble with.
I had an apple with a heart on it today :3:

also Ollih, I like the first and last pictures. Reminds me, I was on the road saturday and a motorcycle took off next to me as a light turned green, did a wheelie into the distance. I was all :haw: and wished I had my camera.

Here's a substitute for you.
I didn't use photoshop in these.
all I did was turn down the shutter speed way down and move the camera while it was open.
also taken at night.

proud of the composition - otherwise I don't care for this.
I have great respect for those of you who can get past 10 days in the 365 project. Mine is more like the every-five-days project, I just don't have time to compose a shot every day :(
Got me a Nikon D3000 last week, loving it so far.

how long an exposure is that? also did you use a filter to stop it becoming overexposed
how long an exposure is that? also did you use a filter to stop it becoming overexposed
I used about 5 stacked exposures.
Manual exposure, 8 sec, f/3.5, ISO 400
They did come out a bit overexposed though, could've probably used ISO 100 or 200.
the stuff in this thread is supreme!
and i come back with like a 365:

I'm digging it, but I feel like it would have been better if the dog was in focus. Since in my view the dog is the subject matter.
That being said nice shot.
Thanks. The problem with having the dog in focus is that the fence would become a big black blur lopped on top of the image.
