Yeah it looks a lot better. I still think a bit of it has to do with it how it was shot/exposed though. Simply put, the subject just blends too much with the background. Keep shooting, mate.
evilking1 you seem to have some sort of grudge against anyone using film. why you be hatin? Film is fun.
On the topic of film, I enjoyed the challange that came with shooting with film. My school has a dark room, so we got to learn how to complete the whole process. The only part I didn't like about it was the fact that we had to race to get a good enlarger, and kids would ruin your photosensative paper, just because.
This photo was shot at the right time in the year:

Fantastic tjaze!
Because then you lose control. It's too simple. It's all about balance. That would be equivalent to saying 'ride a bike' in my analogy. The difference between my stance and yours is that I'm open to challenge, while you're closed to it. Anyone of us can take pictures with a DSLR, but very few of us know how to properly shoot film - which is something I want to learn how to do. Doesn't mean I want to give up on digital.
We obviously have very different philosophies, so I'm just going to drop it.
DoubleDD, don't worry. Latir and his D60 are producing way better shots than I am with my 5dii.
Yeah I know, it was just a joke ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51N6kaRuTss // 18 fps. Please make sure to watch it in "ORIGINAL"-Quality.
This was my first attempt at making a timelapse-video. Neither I had an Intervalometer nor a tripod. Unfortunately the camera moved once and I didn't notice being in the video for the second half. Nevertheless I'm quite happy with the result.

Too little is going on to make it interesting. Choose a subject where you can really see a change over time and not just a wide-view with a few tiiiiiiiiny details

Somehow I just like the simplicity of this one.

I have no grudge, I shoot film sometimes myself, but this rockwellian REALRAW(tm)-"film advantage"-myth is just so stupid

this is phenomenal
I look through this thread and I look at my photo's (none of which have been posted here fyi) and I realise I'm lacking a shitfuckton of creativity. Any tips on how I can (re)gain it?

Ah, well in that case I agree with you I suppose.

Get out. Go for a ride, look for cool stuff to take photos of, etc. If not just look at a bunch of photographs and gather some inspiration. Sometimes the best inspiration comes from others. You pull ideas from other pieces and try your own rendition.
Getting inspiration is a simple as picking up your camera and taking a walk around.

Not exactly a wonderful photograph with the lack of tripod, nightness and high iso, but I had my camera in the car and thought "what the hell, I've never photographed my car before."
I was just damn happy to see it pretty after spending the entire afternoon cleaning her.
Tomorrow I'm ordering a set of Skunk2 Megapower headers, Skunk2 Mega Power RR racing 70mm exhaust, AEM Cold air intake and a Hondata reflash chip. I should be looking at upwards of a 40hp gain :D

Nice. Is it all stock right now? What's the current horsepower?

Right at 200, apparently enough to get me a speeding ticket....30 minutes ago...
Went out for a drive, purely for fun and came back $198 poorer. 45 in a 35....seriously...
Update: The gods must love me, I just saw that in the last hour I've sold $100 worth of product, I think karma for some reason is siding with me on this one!

I didn't realize the lights were off center until later, but I did my best to straighten them up some.

The scary thing about this picture is that it was taken a day before I had my motorcycle wreck!

Obligatory cat image....she was looking through the slats in a chair.

This is the result of light shining through the slats of a rocking chair casting a shadow on a wooden shutter behind it. I thought the zig-zag checkerboard looking design was kind of neat.

Reminds me of a shot I took right after a storm of my grandmother's deck. The sun was shining through the posts at an angle and created hashes with the planking of the deck itself.

Good photos without a specific subject are all about the lines and light and colours!

Hey, I love this.
The cracking paint certainly adds to the image.
That's an interesting plant. What is it? Oh and I like the first one better than the second. ;D They're both good. But I like the first one better.
Took some pics today, still too dependent on it doing most things for me partly due to time restraint but I only use manual focus now.
