Yeah it's sort of an acquired taste thing, you just need to keep playing with post processing to get better at it. At first you need striking changes to notice them, but as you spend time with it you'll notice the subtle stuff more. It's like how all beer tastes like piss when you first start drinking, but after awhile you know what tastes good and what doesn't.
Post processing is about bringing out qualities that already exist, not flat out creating them. It comes naturally, don't think you're bad or anything we've all been through it.
I will admit those pictures are more overdone than I usually do, I was trying it out but it seems to be too distracting. The color overlay is something I usually don't screw with, and the vignette is too intense, I kind of made it that way because I needed the one with the kid holding the camera for a photo project.
I haven't had the time to go out and just do some random photography, I'm planning on settling down soon with school and then if I'm caught up with all of that then I can go get some different pictures.

Is the sky in this second picture a gradient or is it naturally just that clear?

Nah, I do this weird process of blending different layers together to get weird colors and shades. If you are talking about the grass, it snowed the night before and the grass was frozen.

My name is BANNED USER and I am a blue member, my original one was the original ban but blue. I chose those colors for snow and ice. And the lights used to be animated, something broke somewhere.
If Gestapo makes me a mod (he won't, but a man can dream) I'd just have a green BAN for an avatar. But if I ever get banned (hopefully not) everything will match.

I haven't been taking pictures lately, and I really want to, should I do a 365, so I force myself to begin again? Because when I slow down on doing things, I eventually stop even though I love doing it.

It was that clear, I didn't add anything to the photos, I just use multiple layers with different settings, and a slight amount of blur to some. The actual process is my little secret.

Yeah 365s are fun until halfway through when you are all out of ideas and it becomes a chore.
Instead do a 52, which is a weekly photo thing. Well at least that's what I'd call it.
