• Pokemon - How can we improve the series?

All pokemon go extinct except for the original 150 minus Abra. Fuck abra.
We need a first or third person, non-turn based Pokemon game. I would want to see how that turns out.
It's called Pokemon Online. I suggest trying it sometime. They just added the Gen 5 pokemon.
I'm quite sick of homebrew pokemons thank you very much. I meant something for the actual real series. I thought that's what we were discussing here.
I find it funny how people say the pokemon games went downhill through times but I have to disagree. The games got new feautures and were polished through time, though the new pokemon themselves got lamer and lamer.
Why did you bump this
My apologies. I didn't check the post date.
There are no real pokemon past 150 anyways (Mew doesn't fucking count) :colbert:
Great, one of THESE People...
biased poll options
Remove every pokemon after #151
Wow you have been wearing those nostalgia goggles too long, take them off.
Pokemon started sucking after Gold/Silver/Crystal in my opinion. Red/Blue/Yellow were amazing, 151 was quite a few pokemon to capture, everything was fresh and there was nothing like it at the time. Gold/Silver/Crystal were also great. They added some new, interesting things to the table like day/night, the cell phone, the new way your inventory worked, etc., new, creative pokemon, and it was generally a fun time. After that, we started getting a ton of shit pokemon because you can only make so many different pokemon before you run out of ideas, and they just lost their touch. He was my favorite back when I played Crystal. :saddowns: Just look at him!
Jesus christ, let it die already. 10+ games and a spinoff show that's been going for like 8 years is enough.
I agree, pokemon were good up until Gen 3. Except Sharpedo. They were the only one i liked in Gen 3.
I enjoy the game still. :saddowns:
I played Firered again a few weeks back, Houndoom will always be my favourite. :buddy:
I tend to avoid these Pokémon threads like the plague. They piss me off quite a bit. I disagree with the people who say things like "Pokémon died after the first 150" but I also hate everyone who so much as mentions the word nostalgia. I still play Pokémon, I love it as much as ever. But I tell you that the games simply aren't as good as they used to be. And no, it's not nostalgia or any other kind of goggles that's driving me to say that. I have thought about each game and I simply think that they are getting worse. Haven't played Black or White so I can't give my opinion there yet. If anyone wants me to give an explanation as to why I think what I do I will, but I'm not going to bother in this post since if nobody is interested I won't waste my breath. In fact despite being a massive Pokémon fan I completely avoid the thread in GGD because of the elitism there of people who seem to think that Gen 1 SUCKS and anyone who dares say the games are doing anything but get better are completely in the wrong. That and them acting all smug for playing competitive; they seem to think its their business to tell anyone who posts that using Pokémon X or attack Y is the wrong way to play even if that person is trying to play singleplayer. I dislike people who think everyone should conform to their style of play. Anyway, rant over, sorry.
I agree, pokemon were good up until Gen 3. Except Sharpedo. it doesnt matter how much you polish a turd, it is still a big steaming pile of shit.
I don't know how people can keep eating this shit up when they are already not 12.
needs more pokey men
Seriously if you hate the series, this song pretty much bashes you in the face.
After that, we started getting a ton of shit pokemon because you can only make so many different pokemon before you run out of ideas, and they just lost their touch.
Black and White added 156 new pokemon. That's the most that has ever been added by a generation. Game Freak is not running out of ideas and they show no signs of them starting to do so.
Sharpedo is the sole example I always use for pointing out unoriginality in some Pokémon. Half shark half torpedo isn't all that creative.
ahahah! I finally get why he was half a shark! I feel stupid now
Sharpedo is the sole example I always use for pointing out unoriginality in some Pokémon. Half shark half torpedo isn't all that creative.
And i just now realize he's half torpedo :saddowns:
NO more. It should have ended at crystall.
I'm ok with them releasing a pokemon game but I want there to be choices in the game. I hate doing the same thing every time I start a new game. Rather then focus on the graphics or other small things there needs to be choices that provide a different path each time you pick it.

It would have been ok but now theres a gear pokemon.... They named it Gear too.
Go back to the original #150
By fucking ending it. Goddamn.
I don't really think the games are all that bad really, they have quality consistency unlike most series, cod(except for treyarchs new ventures and IWs original games), sonic, etc. It's still probably one of the best turn-based strategy/rpg games avalible(Not many others fit well into this category). It's really a matter of the fact they move forward in their development very slowly. Which in most cases isn't a bad thing. Plus, pretty much all the forks of the series(Excluding TCG, TV Series, Movies, Alter-Games(Except maybe ranger, but that's more of another preference/genre issue) are also good, and hold all the same game dynamics while adding even more quality. Basically Gamefreak and partners development has either been level or uphill, which is something most developers cannot hold well these days.
It's funny to read this thread because everyone with good points is being rated dumb cause they like Pokemon. Weren't you guys ever kids?
Add visual pokemon bred scenes
