Thing about that is... Nerf uses air to push it, so even if you hook it up to an oxygen tank it would just fail completely since nerf guns are in no way air tight, if anything it would crush itself.
What, no. Most Nerf guns are spring-loaded.
What, no. Most Nerf guns are spring-loaded.
They use springs to create a compressed area of air behind the dart, the piston never actually hits the dart.

Seeing as this thread is now about nerf guns in space...
I think that most of them work with a spring loaded piston. The piston is pulled back and released, which compresses the air in the cylinder and blows the dart out. In space, the piston wouldn't have any air to compress.
You'd have to completely rebuild it to fire in space. You could get rid of the piston and hook up an air bottle with a release valve connected to the trigger, more like an airgun.
Going to try and do a test today if I have the time. Most likely It won't happen but wish me luck.
So, anybody up for launching an Artificial Intelligence probe to mars??
So, anybody up for launching an Artificial Intelligence probe to mars??
That's a bit far, lets send a dragon dildo to the moon instead.
So, anybody up for launching an Artificial Intelligence probe to mars??
Maybe. Depends: what kind of minerals are on Mars, and can a T-1000 be built from them?
We shouldn't be finding a way to milk more materials out of another planet, but rather finding a suitable place for a human colony to start terraforming Mars.

But, wait...
Wouldn't Terminators terraform it ten times faster than humans?
NO. DO NOT SEND AN AI THERE. WE WILL BE ATTACKED BY MARTIAN KILL-BOTS AND WE WILL ALL DIE.
Hi folks.
Today marks a day of great progress. Finally the larger engine is coming into completion. It is being fitted with insulation to help prevent the engine from burning itself and shorting out half way.
[editline]10th September 2011[/editline]
Oh and, I've begun work on another engine. This ones liquid based so I doubt we'll see anything come out of it due to how expensive it is to obtain them.
Anybody want pictures of the first day I started working on the engine?
Anybody want pictures of the first day I started working on the engine?
Yes. For science!
Working on recovery. Going to buy a R-DAS for tracking and downloading flight data.
I'm rather embarrassed of the picture of the engine so i'll just snap some pictures of it without insulation tomorrow.
Going to update the OP soon. Is there any way I can convince you guys to toss some dosh in so I can finish this?

If I ever become rich, I'll give you some monies. I promise. For science!
Not exactly sure what to add to the OP; any suggestions?

So apparently home made rockets are illegal here. There goes my dreams.

Don't you worry, I bet UN serverfarms and experimental VTOL airplanes aren't!
I found a .pdf all about designing, building, and testing small, liquid-fuel rocket engines here. Don't know if anyone here would be interested. And where are the pictures?
I broke the cap off of the engine. :(.

Is it repairable and, if so, how soon can you get it fixed?
Also, what kinds of sensors do you plan on fixing to the final rocket? It wouldn't really be worth all the trouble if we couldn't see space.
