No mention of As I Lay Dying? Best metalcore band in existence.
Only modern metalcore-ish band I can stand is Trivium because I enjoyed their last album. But metallic hardcore is where it's at.
I'm going to post some good modern metallic hardcore for everyone to enjoy (Steel Trap video, yes, that is Ross from Ceremony doing guest vocals) The breakdown at 1:50 is so fucking heavy. Sabertooth Zombie covering Paranoid [editline]09:26AM[/editline]
No mention of As I Lay Dying? ^ I love hardcore instrumentals. Also those bands were pretty rocking, but Sabertooth Zombie weren't that great. Maybe because it's a cover.
> What I hate about Metalcore: > Some songs have no structure (Sometimes have a catchy chorus played once?) > EXCESSIVE chugging of low open chords > Whiney voices > ALWAYS singing about murdering woman (It can't be THAT fun?) > Too much integration of happy techno stuff if that makes sense
Thisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthis IMO metalcore is too whiny to be badass yet everyone teenage metalhead likes it/them. and this thread will probably be locked in a matter of minutes/hours
I listen to proper whiny stuff, and I'll be the first to admit I'm a pussy :colbert: And I don't see what's wrong with a thread discussing metalcore
I listen to proper whiny stuff, and I'll be the first to admit I'm a pussy :colbert: And I don't see what's wrong with a thread discussing metalcore
Lot's of people hate it, and there's usually large amounts of abuse and whatnot in metalcore threads.
i like bullet for my valentine but i cant stand that vocalist.
It's funny, you call of this "pop-metal", yet A Day to Remember has even admitted that they mix pop and metal. DevilDriver is fucking ruined by the fact that their vocalist can't scream for shit, and his low's are really generic. And Shadows Fall sound a lot like metallica, just a tad heavier. Underoath on the other hand, has a drummer/singer combo who actually is good. Along with a screamer and singer, the actually harmonize, which is uncommon. Since the drummer has no double bass pedal, there's hardly and low chord chugging. Their guitarists and bassist actually fit along with each other, perfectly. August Burns Red is opposite of Underoath, but still have far more talent than the bands you (hopefully joking) stated. Their drummer is up there with the more talented drummers in metal. The guitars' riffs blend well with chords. The vocalist isn't the main item, but he provides the perfect blend of depth in the song. Lyrics don't represent the whole song. If you think that, then you seriously have a warped view on how music goes.
Amazing. For one, underoath's drummer quit, so that's out the window. Shadows Fall sounds nothing like Metallica. I don't know what metallica you're listening to. You're putting down DevilDriver for "generic lows"? Are we getting technical now, huh? Dave Mustaine's voice is shit, but he's still a great vocalist because you can hear the soul he puts into his music. I don't joke about this. I'd like to see a song by either band (underoath or august burns red) that shows technical prowess that can even touch the first demo of Megadeth, Metallica, or any good metal band. I never said lyrics make the song, but they can break it easily. Underoath isn't even a metal band. They headline at hot topic venues. What the fuck do you mean by drummer singer combo? This blows my mind
The guitars' riffs blend well with chords.
Well seeing as how this thread STARTED off topic since none of the OP's bands were even metalcore I just decided to take it to the next level
Well seeing as how this thread STARTED off topic since none of the OP's bands were even metalcore I just decided to take it to the next level
So because the OP doesn't know his shit, it's okay for you not to ether? :fuckoff:
Well seeing as how this thread STARTED off topic since none of the OP's bands were even metalcore I just decided to take it to the next level
you're an idiot shut up

I don't get how low screams can have "soul". Out of all the bands I've heard, underoath actually puts what you call "soul" into their singing and screaming. And Metallica isn't really that good. Who cares if they're one of the original metal bands? Besides paving the way for metal, they really haven't done anything special.

So fuckin sue me, just because you're trying to impress all your friends on the interwebs and look like a kewl kid So if you want me to actually name some metalcore bands I like because it's OBVIOUSLY JUST THAT IMPORTANT. Trivium As I Lay Dying Chimera Unearth Caliban Walls of Jericho A Perfect murder A Stained Glass Romance Ahimsa Sunrise Aim for the Sunrise Bleeding through Bury tomorrow The Agonist Miss May I Before the Fallen Dreams Cus trolling on a list of bands that I like is definitely on topic as well. Cunt
Metalcore I don't like, Deathcore I absolutely hate.

I liked metalcore until I listened to melodic death, then I never really listened to metalcore again. Darkest Hour is alright, and believe it or not Avenged Sevenfold used to be pretty fucking good.

If Metallica wasn't good at making music, no one would've have really listened to it, and we wouldn't have the metal we have today. If the name of a band is well known in the metal community, chances are, they're good at making music.
Deathcore def > Metalcore, juss sayin. Funner to dance to.
...Hardcore dancing yeah great. Anyway you want low growls with soul? I give you Cilice

I give you Cilice
Deathcore is good mosh music honestly. That's what it's good for. And I haven't seen many hardcore dancers in pits, they're rare, and when they do pop up, they get tagged really quite and go down and out.
Well those people who "tag" them are faggots. If they're not ruining it for anyone why should they get taken out? Except if they're emos or scene fags, I've seen them taken out before

it's what happens when you go to shows like that, deal with it either stay away from the pit, or be mindful about what is going on around you. It comes with the culture, you don't get a choice
Walls of Death are fun. And painful.
