Isn't that when the people form two walls and they charge into each other
...Hardcore dancing yeah great. Anyway you want low growls with soul? I give you Cilice View YouTUBE video http://youtube.com/watch?v=aVCfYwa8zes
Cilice are fucking great, I ordered their first album and a T-shirt a couple of weeks ago  Can't wait to get it.
When I get cash I'm getting a t shirt and hopefully a Blotted Science T shirt :v:
When I get cash I'm getting a t shirt and hopefully a Blotted Science T shirt :v:
It's funny, if anybody sees one of us wearing obscure band shirts like Cilice and blotted science, nobody will have an idea what it is
I want unknown band shirts just so people ask what they are lol And also because the bands rule and more people should know about them
I want unknown band shirts just so people ask what they are lol And also because the bands rule and more people should know about them
Good point :buddy: Cilice definitely deserve more attention than they get.
Same with blotted, and mikey actively goes out his way to have obscure band t shirts. huh... totally not like a scene kid or hipster then :buddy:
I don't actually I want band shirts from bands I like :downs: I don't actually have any though ;-; [editline]05:13PM[/editline] also I cannot tell if that's sarcasm or not do scenekids and hipsters wear band shirts so people ask who they are?
Hipsters do, they try and be as obscure as possible :v:
it's what happens when you go to shows like that, deal with it either stay away from the pit, or be mindful about what is going on around you. It comes with the culture, you don't get a choice
And yet, the danger of hardcore dancing is you get tagged. That's the culture. You don't get a choice.
BFMV: A band that has a couple of catchy songs, but listening to a full album is painfull. Now here's a list with "so called good" metalcor bands: God Forbid Threat Signal (new album is metalcore) Caliban Heaven Shall Burn (melodeath with some metalcore) Unearth Architects
Caliban are pretty good
No. Heres some good metalcore, And probably the most metalcore sounding one from that album, Burial at Sea
I like these guys, my two favorite songs off of their newest album
God Forbid and HORSE The Band are both good incarnations of metalcore.
I fucking hate Metalcore, especially the band Avenged sevenfold
I discovered TDWP on my own and I enjoy it quite a bit. I think it's a bit silly to label it "scenecore" and shit. What the fans and such decide to wear does not make the music, it's a mere byproduct of the music. I'm not about to judge the musical quality of any band based off of what kind of person the average fan is. I hate Miley Cyrus because it is shit music, not because teenage girls love her. I actually enjoy the simple "chugga-chug" nature of the music most of y'all is calling shit. Music doesn't have to be complex to be good, I don't need intense guitar solos and shit like that in order to have an enjoyable experience. Those breakdowns are pretty sick live.
Best part of metalcore of any kind is the ability to mosh to it really well.
I don't know what you're listening to, but Underoath is defineatly a metal band. And by drummer singer combo, Aaron would sing and drum. Also back to the DevilDriver thing. I don't get how low screams can have "soul". Out of all the bands I've heard, underoath actually puts what you call "soul" into their singing and screaming. And Metallica isn't really that good. Who cares if they're one of the original metal bands? Besides paving the way for metal, they really haven't done anything special.
Underoath is Emo metal if it's metal, pop metal. ANY singing can have soul. Why would "low screams" have less than any other type of vocals? It's about what you put into it, not the style it is. Metallica made amazing music, I don't care about what influence they had. They were just the first band off of the top of my head though, I could name literally hundreds more.
I fucking hate Metalcore, especially the band Avenged sevenfold
A7X isn't metalcore, at least not anymore, they're just mainstream rock now
And yet, the danger of hardcore dancing is you get tagged. That's the culture. You don't get a choice.
Do you mean other people going in and taking out the "dancers" or them hurting each other? I've seen other people accidentally hurt each other, but I've never seen any of them get targeted specifically because they are doing it.

I've seen other people accidentally hurt each other, but I've never seen any of them get targeted specifically because they are doing it.
The ones that are doing it are often quickly pushed out. Why? Because, no one fucking likes that. They often hurt other people in a totally unnecessary manner, so no one really lets it go on. They generally don't even pop up though, I've seen maybe 1-2 a concert, and when I go to the bigger festivals, one or two pops up, and they're always at the hardcore band pits, which i don't mind, that's where they belong.
I guess, it's irritating if you're not in the pit and they're there. I go to those hardcore shows though, as I really dislike deathcore The shows I go to, there's like pits for moshing and pits for hardcore dancing. You go in one or the other, it's not like normal mosh mixed up with hardcore dancers. I dunno, I got no problem with it
I love dancing and I love moshing. Either way people get hurt so I don't see what the big deal is. You get in the pit, you're gonna get hit. Dancing or moshing, so if you're scared stay out of the pit. :smug:
What if I want to see the actual band play, and appreciate them from a musicians point of view?

Moshing is sort of like a collaborative dance, shared between metalheads, just slamming against each other. It's a way of enjoying the music and letting out your aggressions. If somebody falls down, s/he gets helped up or out of the pit. Hardcore dancing is flailing your arms around, not caring who you hit in the face. It's overly violent and egoistical. plus the music sucks

plus the music sucks
Just as an aside. I don't know, I'm not a fan of moshing nor hardcore dancing. Or any dancing at all, really (other than dancing around the point in a paper with words :smug:). I personally believe that moshing is a bit excessive, and to the people who think "oh well if you don't mosh then you don't really like the band / you're not a real metalhead / you're a pussy / you're a poser," well, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a pussy when it comes to events that could result in me getting hurt - but that's irrelevant. I personally think that if you can headbang to the music, and you actually go to the shows, that's evidence enough you like and enjoy the band. That being said, I find people who listen to the grooviest god-damn riff/kick-drum combinations ever and can manage to keep their heads completely still sick and wrong. It's just disgusting. :barf:
What if I want to see the actual band play, and appreciate them from a musicians point of view?
You can watch a band play and still stay out of the mosh pit, there's usually a designated pit area where you know people are dancing and moshing so just stay away from it, or push through to the front because the pit rarely ever gets too close.
Not usually in the shows I've been to. Or if I do, I end up getting knocked in the back of the head by the circlejerk of scene kids directly behind me [editline]10:11PM[/editline] Ah well, I'm not complaining. It's still a fine enough atmosphere for me
