They're still keeping Gunny in work with Lock N' Load, so they're not too bad.
The History Channel is shit. I haven't watched it in a few years, but I remember that Larry the cable guy was getting some time on the channel. That's just lame.
These days they just make the most stupid programming imaginable. They seriously aired this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler_and_the_Occult
You know what that isn't bad. They were documentaries that were rarely shown on that channel back then (and were typically shown around 3:00 in the morning) and help break it up by being that one retarded idea that was laughably bad. Now in days, entire shows are based around stuff like Ancient Aliens and the Apocalypse.
Do ya know what pisses me off about the history channel. The massive tremendous circle wank over Nostradamus.
I don't get Sky here in the UK so no History or Discovery for me. Only some channel called Yesterday, which doesn't seem to show that much history, more sort of old dramas. Well, thats what it showed the last time I checked (A few months ago).
Dude I have Sky and I'm in the UK. :raise:
Wait isn't Sky UK only? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Sky_Broadcasting Yea what the fuck?
They should bring back Mail Call I miss the Gunny.
Well its exactly like that in Sweden to. On the HD version too. :P
The History Channel went from "intelligent tv and documentaries" to "HITLER HITLER ALIENS NOSTRADAMUS MORE HITLER" [editline]09:53AM[/editline]
They should bring back Mail Call I miss the Gunny.
Those brave watermelons.
Now this boob has his one show.
but keeps repeating all day, causing the same effect as all these old shows.
that's why it's called the history channel
I remember watching a "documentary" on Hitler's apparent homosexuality and why it was so confusing he came to persecute gays because he was actually one himself. Seriously, what the FUCK. Even the shows about Hitler are retarded. We should all write a letter of complaint to the History Channel expressing our dislike of their non-historically related shows.
Or tell them to change their name to "Present" since all their shows are based on modern conspiracy, selling old shit and the same old Hitler conspiracies.
op Top Gear America is coming out on the history channel this fall, which looks like it will be pretty sweet. but it still doesnt negate all the nazi stuff lol
Why the hell is Top Gear on the History channel? That should be Discovery Shed or some shit.
Another thing about History channel that bugs me: it seems that no matter what, without fail, every single time I switch to the channel there's something about UFO conspiracies. Because UFOs have everything to do with history and are well-researched by experts.
Went down hill when they canceled Mail Call
This. And, Isn't History International like a "Dumpyard" for all the History channel shows? [editline]08:20AM[/editline] And poor gunny had to do one of the best Gieco ads ever. Why don't you chug on over to mamsy pansy land and load you up with some self confidence! Tissues? *Throws tissues*
I just changed the channel on my tv to history to see what was on, and guess what, its talking about the dustbowl. history!
Discovery Channel's where it's at. :colbert:
I am going to have to disagree with you there. The Discovery Channel is going downhill also. It is all Dirty Jobs now. The Science Channel, however, still has many good shows.
American Pickers is probably the most history-centric show that airs daily. Sometimes they show The Universe which is a really good show. The only channels I watch anymore are Discovery and Nick at Nite. What's Oasis?
American Pickers isn't really history-centric. They just go and buy old things and MAYBE tell a bit of history about it. But that's just my own opinion.
Where I live the Science channel is called "Discovery Science" [editline]09:51AM[/editline] Also, this thread is in the wrong forum
What forum should this go in? Is it not a General Discussion about the downfall of the History Channel and other channels that have gone kind of bad?
Or tell them to change their name to "Present" since all their shows are based on modern conspiracy, selling old shit and the same old Hitler conspiracies.
The present channel, now with more 2012 theories!
I really don't understand why there are documentaries on the bible like every time I turn to this channel.
Military channel kind of sucks, guys. Now i'm not talking about the programming, but the fact that they play four shows daily and then replay them over and over again. Their programming is great, but I want more variety per day. History channel is still way worse.
The present channel, now with more 2012 theories!
So shouldn't it be the Near-Future channel?
I too have been annoyed by the History channel lately. I can't stand Ice Road Truckers and cannot find ONE thing historical about it. Pawn Stars is alright, and American Pickers was good the first time I watched it. I mostly watch History International, Military channel, and sometimes there are some interesting documentaries on BBCA.
I gave up on History once they started airing CSI.
When did they do that?
Another special on Jesus = me killing myself. [editline]02:35PM[/editline] Or Nostradamus.
