repeating morse code, 50 second intervals what is the morse saying?
don't know if i'm late but the day the british spies body was found in his flat UVB-76 was going crazy broadcasting. rate me clocks if im late.
They're playing some kind of music!
Edit: It stopped for about a minute with only static, the buzzer came back for a minute and now they played about 30 seconds of music again.
No more buzzing just static and i hear a beep beep beep like one of those computer consoles in science films, if this is a dead mans switch does this mean we are fucked.
holy fucking shit this is scary, im recording it
Static and faint buzzer hmm
No more buzzing just static.
Please stop reporting this, it happens every night, and it's not the station losing power/shutting off or whatever.
if this is a dead mans switch does this mean we are fucked
Depends how the dead hand operates, if it's dependant on the buzzer.
Morse code
I have been recording for an hour and a half:
the sequence is this:
high pitched Morse every 50 seconds, deeper-toned Morse sporadically, weird creepy orchestral music sample very sporadically. I actually heard the original buzzing horn noise quietly but distinctively although it faded back into static again
also, sauce on the music "The music is from Russian "Swan Lake" ballet"

Why are there no crazy Russians on the internet that are willing to don some biosuits and storm this building?
okay, I've been recording between 5:30 and 8 pm EST, here are the highlights you guys will want to hear:
http://www.mediafire.com/?ctiydm0fo9k7t
Avaliable for download are:
Russian Buzzer high-pitched morse.mp3 - This is the high-pitched morse code we've been hearing for the past couple hours. it loops every 50 seconds. More significantly, the original buzzing sound we are accustomed to can be heard faintly at the beginning of the .mp3
Russian Buzzer low-tones morse.mp3 - This is the lower-pitched morse code I heard at around 5:50 EST. It has ceased to be heard again in my 2 hours of recording since
Russian Buzzer Russian Swan music.mp3 - This is the most bizarre and somewhat eerie part I've been hearing over and over sporadically. It is the Russian Swan ballet music. Not interference as it is on loop!
All of these are recorded from the USB feed from this wonderful blog http://uvb-76.blogspot.com/
Thanks vapour for recording the Morse.
The high pitched Morse is a Russian Air Defence Broadcast. The question mark transmission is simply a timecode you can see it go up from 2208 to 2221.
The traffic is air defence related. Basically the radar station is tracking an aircraft assigned the track number 1604. The tracking is via a 7 figure grid and the aircraft is registering a negative identification friend of foe transponder. That is the 901 part in the traffic.
The Russians still use a lot of Morse on HF. They also use the same format air defence traffic sent in Voice.

The low pitched Morse is the Russian Navy traffic. It is simply Russian Navy vessels sending weather and sea states.

Which stream is the best to listen to?
guys, i was checking UVB-76's Wiki Article, and i saw this
The station has recently been spoofed by European pirate radio operators. Morse code transmissions on frequency addressed shortwave listeners by name with expletive-laced messages. It is impossible to determine which transmissions, if any, are originating from UVB-76 due to pirate interference.
