She could always join later on. I waited until my second semester of college to jump into greek life. It is something that you definitely need to weigh the pros and cons over and waiting it out this semester will give her more time to get to know girls in all of the different sororities. But tell her you support her either way, because your pressure seems to have swayed her decision a bit.

But you have to keep a certain GPA to even be in a fraternity/sorority. (My organization makes us keep a minimum of 2.9 and I hold a 3.4 currently.)
