Ending a life is always immoral, regardless who kills what, or what kills who. Whilst I wish to see such animal abusers punished, I think they should be spared from death. Maybe you should just let /4/ Chan get a hold of them. That's about as punishing as you can get.

It's a mostly universal response, and quite psychologically rooted. Because of how domestic animals' faces are formed, the human brain subconsciously recognizes them as human babies. That's how the "cute" reflex comes to be. The human brain is also wired, of course, to be extremely protective of human babies.

Long story short, I don't condone animal torture because that would make me a psychopath, but I also don't think that people who torture animals deserve to be tortured and murdered either, that would make me a retard. [editline]08:06PM[/editline] I hate broken automerges.

People generally could care less if a non quasihuman animal dies because it doesn't trigger the described offspring reflex (ie, with a shark or squid or something.)

The equivalent of a human life is how much you put onto it, so if you love your dog more then you love that guy you dont know then so be it, and if you like ants more then people then thats your problem
