Brilliant Drawings.
I especially love your architectural drawings, you should try drawing one of these based from Osktuin's map

I think they would look absolutely gorgeous with your skills.
I've had high school art (which is pretty much useless) and some life drawing classes (which weren't). I'm about to get a whole shitload of formal training now, though.
I'm interested in taking art classes too, what is required for them? And what do you do in class?
fuck you TH89

I'm going to San Jose State University and majoring in Animation/Illustration (www.sjsuai.com). All I had to do to get in was meet the eligibility requirements, then I signed up for the first semester of Animation/Illustration classes. Right now I'm taking 4 different ones:
Overview of Western Animation: It's a history class taught by a guest lecturer who produced some Rocko's Modern Life episodes I think? Basically we watch cartoons in a giant auditorium. Pretty cool.
Color Principles: Essentially a painting class, focusing on basic use of paint and observing shape & value
Drawing for Sequential Narrative: This is the drawing class that's supposed to prep us for animation and illustration. It's basically a regular drawing class but way more intense, very focused on drawing accurately instead of "self-expression" and bullshit like that. We have to fill an entire sketchbook by the end of the semester or we literally fail the class.
Light and Optics: This is a class about perspective and shadow, mainly. Also very drawing intensive, and there's a lot of crossover between it and the Drawing for Sequential Narrative class.
We also have guest lectures and animation screenings a few times a month. It's insanely awesome and fun.
Today I drew my microphone. It looks a lot better on paper (in the picture it's distorted by the floopy page and bad image quality)

Been a while since I visited FP. Great going, TH89, good to see you have been keeping up the drawing. I hope to see some lizard space-chicks!
Some things when it comes to coloring: generally areas in shadow aren't as saturated in color as areas in light - which is important to remember.
I'm gonna recommend a blog by the dinotopia creator James Gurney - Gurney Journey: http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/ which is imo one the most valuable resources on the net when it comes to art and understanding it.
....I wish I could draw like that. But I'm happy drawing Courage the Cowardly-esque characters :3

Hi Lord M! I saw your conceptart sketchbook a couple weeks ago and I was gonna message you on MSN to say awesome job on how much you've improved but you weren't on and then I forgot. Thanks for the link!
I decided to fill out some 360 degree sheets of my space guy to get better at drawing him. Here's the first one--not looking great but I think there was still some noticeable improvement.

LOORRRD MMMMM
That shit is lookin good, 89. I can recommend you doing studies of that alien-guy by building him up with the simplest geometric forms you can think of, you know spheres, cones, cubes - and then draw him from any angle before applying secondary details like eyes n shit.
Btw gimmie a PM with your msn, I had to get a new one because somehow it got fuckered up and I couldn't get in.
