I have around $2000. I want something with a small engine. preferably a 4cyl, but 6 is acceptable. I dont really want a Japanese car. I need it to be roomy and comfortable as possible for a car. I want something that will last and not fall to pieces slowly. What are your guys' suggestions?

This. I love my '90 Corolla, and my friend loves his '92 Civic LX. Both were under $2000, have little-no problems and don't look like ass.

So that worked out well for you?
I feel so helpful.

Yep, Jap is the way to go. Not sure how prices relate to the UK but for $2000 (£1,200ish) you would have plenty of choice for a good solid Jap runner.

Not an entirely pointless hate for jap cars. Just certain ones. I really like subarus and dont mind most mazdas. Lexuses seem pretty nice too.
On a different note: What are your guys' opinions on jeep Cherokees?
Strong, reliable, you can beat the shit out of them and they'll still run. Overall great daily driver. The mpg would be in the same ballpark of your Stang, however. Just remember... I think someone else said it too... Grand Cherokee = wrong Cherokee

I have a truck and my mustang. I want to trade out my truck for something thats a bit less of a project. and I really like cherokees from what I can tell. And I'll keep that in mind about the grands haha
So I have a little dilemma:
I am a guy who is open to most cars but with a greater preference for muscle cars and sports cars.
I was considering a 89-99 Mustang Gt OR I was considering a 79-02 Camaro Z28
Say My limit is 4 grand, what should I get? Keep in mind that I was more for horsepower than turn-ability and efficiency. Most likely going with an automatic, v8 rear wheel drive.
Well I own a 95 Mustang GT. Automatic. 5.0L HO 302 V8 engine. As a muscle type car, its pretty good. Not a whole lot of power, but there are tons of options for the 5.0L engine. I really recommend a manual though, much better for a "muscle" car. Being a 95 and the 5.0, it doesnt produce a whole ton of power. But some engine mods can really go a long way. (Or so I have heard. No finances to do that to my own) They ride low, have a nice interior, and dont turn too bad. Mine rides hard because of the shocks and tires that are on it, but im sure you could get some smooth shocks. I only want to sell it because I dont have a lot of money for the gas a little stuff keeps breaking. Ive have heard that its not very common for mustangs of this year. I KNOW the previous owner treated it the worst he probably could. Im surprised it ran when I got it. I have also heard that the 95 GTs (with the 5.0L) have more options for aftermarket parts than the 96+ 4.6L engines.
So thats my opinion on the 95 mustang. I have no experience on the camero field.
It's the fact that my parents can't drive stick (I know), and need to drive the car as well.
Ah, that sucks. Well, with some nice engine modifications and a shift kit you could still have a real nice car. I know this guy that has connections to a ford performance shop warehouse, so he can get performance parts for real cheap, but I have no money for them. :smith:

E30 if you were really really lucky, but you'd almost certainly have to do some work on it, at least initially.
I agree with the guys above, something japanese would be your best bet.

I think the guys in here persuaded me to keep my mustang and stop neglecting it. I will fix it, piece by piece. Anyways, I still want a subaru. My best bet for that is to just save up or a while.

well you get the idea, fine 88-04 mustang...
wanna buy a 90 miata with a possibly broken crankshaft so i can buy this built 240 coupe so i can swap all the parts over to my car
Nissan skyline?
wut
What kind of reliability will you get out of mk2 VW's?
8v motor, not the VR6.
Talking about MK2 Golfs i suppose? Probably one of the most reliable cars out there, my dad has one as his winter car (90hp GT Spezial) and it has over 350000km on it. Parts are pretty cheap too, depending on where you live of course.
