Christy Clemmins is one lucky fuck! She was on the roof when that building fell.
:gonk: I have a friend living there, i hope to the god i don't believe in he's ok.
Ditto this. Although I'm not THAT worried about him. I'm certain his power is out though, he hasn't been online for like two days now. 65 dead is horrific compared to last time. But I'm betting it was due to the time of day, not the magnitude. =[
Fuck this is pretty bad I hope Aus does something to help
Fuck this is pretty bad I hope Aus does something to help
We've sent over 70+ staff
We've sent over 70+ staff
You deserve some sort of reward for such a brilliant title. Also, thanks.
6.3 is pretty intense. When I was about 7 we had an earthquake that measured a 6.8 in some regions. Where I was at we got hit with a quick ~6.2 then allot of 2.3 aftershocks. Destroyed our chimney and septic system. $50,000 to fix all of it. Take care of yourselves. Edit; Found my earthquake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_Nisqually_earthquake

Mother Nature likes its New Zealand Shaken, not stirred. [editline]22nd February 2011[/editline] Why did they build a city on a fault line?
Mother Nature likes its New Zealand Shaken, not stirred. [editline]22nd February 2011[/editline] Why did they build a city on a fault line?
Why did they build New York at sea level? And why did they populate California? Because theres shit there that people wanted.
Just hope and earthquake doesn't hit hastings soon, don't die on me Ronan!
found out that my grandma who lives in christchurch is ok. i feel for anyone that still doesn't know about their friends/families situation
Update on my friend, he's fine. His house is wooden and virtually undamaged, but his neighbours in brick houses had walls collapse and such. Quote unquote: Apparently my mother WAS on the toilet when it happened. xD
I am certain I am the only New Zealander that doesn't give the slightest hint of a fuck. Facebook is covered with messages related to it.
I am certain I am the only New Zealander that doesn't give the slightest hint of a fuck. Facebook is covered with messages related to it.
Have you watched the news and listened to all of the negative stories? If you have and you still don't give a fuck, you're just another heartless person. I don't go filling Facebook with messages about how much I care, but that doesn't mean I don't care.
I am certain I am the only New Zealander that doesn't give the slightest hint of a fuck. Facebook is covered with messages related to it.
grats you want an award? if you don't care don't post.

I guess I've been desensitized because the only kinds of stories on 3 news and One news goes like this: *Serious tone* TONIGHT ON 3 NEWS 6 PEOPLE ARE INJURED AND A FATHER OF 4 DEAD AFTER AN ARMED ROBBERY AT A GREY LYNN LIQUOR STORE *cut to crying relative* "I just can't see how someone can do that, what are to do? To just take a life like that, in grey lynn of all places, it's just unthinkable." A 16 year old Maori male was arrested in connection to the event, but no charges have been laid, and name supression has been granted.

I'm in Australia and all the channels were playing footage no-stop for about 2 hours after it happened
Phew relatives are all safe and sound.
Why does the Earth all of a sudden hate Oceania? [editline]22nd February 2011[/editline] I mean, fires in the west of Aus, mass flooding on the east of Aus, and now this?
I wouldn't open a can of coke over there for at least a few days.
Just hope and earthquake doesn't hit hastings soon, don't die on me Ronan!
I wont die man Just had contact from a old mate in christchurch, He narrowly missed death from falling debress from the tower of the catherderal.

Do geography or something because the fault line is on the opposite side of the South Island which is quite far from Christchurch.
