Thats why they're never used in war.
Also laser beams are much more easily neatralized than bullet/shell.
Also many scientific breaktroughs can be just waste of money and resources.
Like Soviet union managed to turn some materials (small particles of it) into gold by nuclearmanipulation thing, but it cost huge amounts of energy and money, so it would be just hundred times easier to just mine it. So it just ended up to be a propaganda victory.

No, no I understand but I have yet to see failures on any scientific front from any nation, people successfully seem to fund full space flight/moon landings with little to no economic hits and like one botched launch, also they do it in a matter of 2-3 turns which is almost absurd. It's like everyone is running tiny 1950-60s USAs but with no space race or cold war.
Yeah every space thing after satellites (until space mining*) will be unprofitable and purely propaganda/scientific.
*That requires shitloooooaaaaaaads of money and will take many decades until it pays it back (if never). And the only profitable thing to mine from moon is helium-3 fusion fuel.
And this being said I haven't contested anyone's post, and I still don't. I'm only voicing my concerns. This may be an alternate time line but we can try and keep on a level that doesn't instantly involve 4 super powers happening all within this confined space.

That's not really responding to my concern, everyone just seems to be going "yeah BTW we're going to space" Without any sort of budget being put in place. They're still funding MASSIVE projects along side going to the moon. Also they're still doing it a lubriciously short amount of time.

Also I'm not sure if you'll have to worry about abandoning your nation but if it comes down to fairness and you have to, would you be up for that?

I think that'd be ideal, but we should call it to a vote. Also if we do people should be able to keep their starting nations for the sake of time and having to remake army sheets.

Well the whole concept was to have them on a sprite level, so we should probs keep it on side view. Ya know to keep the spirit of the original idea of the thread
Yeah, but topdown would be more strategigal.
Atleast nations should have tiny topdown sprites showing where their armies are in main map.
Makes sense to me, will give more people the opportunity to play I suppose. Anyway you'll be the GM so you can make the rule you think are best in the OP

Yeah but the thing is you're supposed to be the only one who posts the big updates, the whole point of the GM is for players to send all of their actions and the GM decides to reaction of said actions. It's also to get all the information pooled into one post, we aren't met to flood the thread with our own updates. That's the point.
