i think we should just ignore everyone that has a justin bieber avatar from now on. back on topic, great soundtrack for this film. i can't help but kinda laugh when bateman gives his analogy of huey lewis and phil collins.
and in my opinion, your posts are pretty bad [editline]23rd October 2010[/editline] Bateman Batman
One of my all-time favorite movies! I should read the book sometime...
back on topic, great soundtrack for this film. i can't help but kinda laugh when bateman gives his analogy of huey lewis and phil collins.
When he gives that monologue about a Whitney Houston album... pure gold Patrick Bateman: Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Christie? Elizabeth: [laughing] You actually listen to Whitney Houston? You own a Whitney Houston CD? More than one? Patrick Bateman: It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album. And he's so straight about it that makes it even more funny! ROFL :v: [editline]25th October 2010[/editline] But the Huey Lewis and The News monologue takes the cake
that christian bale, hes a damn good actor. total dick irl though. oh well.
that christian bale, hes a damn good actor. total dick irl though. oh well.
Since starting reading this thread all I can do is hate everything you say. Watch the movie, and dont come back. Your arguments are invalid, and even if they were valid, in not sure anyone would care because your grammar sucks, and so does your arguement anyway. So, I dont know what to think about the ending. It really mystifies me.
I am currently reading the book, but I haven't gotten far. It's good so far though.

Loved this movie, personally, I think that he didn't actually kill those people. He was more or less just fantasizing it.
Loved this movie, personally, I think that he didn't actually kill those people. He was more or less just fantasizing it.
nah he definitely did kill them. the idea is that people confuse people for other people, hence why bateman was "at atlantic city" when he was killing paul allen, why several people had lunch with "paul allen" in london, why paul allen always called bateman halberstram (at first i thought these two might have switched places or something), and why the lawyer called bateman davis. perhaps this davis is a loser and people just think he's pat bateman.
in the book [sp]he actually kills all of those people,[/sp] in the movie [sp]you're lead to believe he was imagining it all[/sp] [editline]25th October 2010[/editline]
that christian bale, hes a damn good actor. total dick irl though. oh well.
just about all method actors are
I remember seeing an interview with him on the set of American Psycho, he was totally in character in it. He didn't even have his accent, he was still in Bateman mode, and it was on the set where he's at the ATM machine.

"I just had to kill a lot of people!!"
this is the best movie to exist, end of discussion
I need to return some video tapes. One of my all time favourite movies, and books.
I need to return some video tapes. One of my all time favourite movies, and books.
Hahahaha, yea. "Patrick, where are you going?" (his fiance crying at the restaurant) "I have to return some video tapes."
"You're just not terribly important to me." Ice Cold!
"In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it."

He wasnt just a cannibal, he did necrophillia too. Or he faps too hard. Or all of them. Anyway, thanks man. :fappery:
Dont just stare at it....eat it
[sp]He killed all those people , It was all in his head, He is in his own reality and nothing makes sense?[/sp]
[sp]Bret Easton Ellis confirmed that he actually did kill all those people, but that he is also an unreliable narrator and it may not have happened in exactly the way we see.[/sp] Anyone who likes the movies should read the book. The movie is good, but the book is better by leaps and bounds.
yupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyupyup
Well that actually impacts my view on things. He wasnt just a cannibal, he did necrophillia too. Or he faps too hard. Or all of them. Anyway, thanks man. :fappery:
In one scene of the book he walks around his apartment with a severed head on his dick.
He tries to make sausages out of human flesh but he doesn't really know how to cook. Seriously you can't get the full impact from excerpts on a forum. You need to read the book. Especially since the books in first person, makes it even more horrifying.
i JUST had to kill alot of people

I know it's trivial but I hate it when I realise that I've seen a version that isn't quite complete. Why is it open matte? Is it accidental?
dude u wanna see batemans penis?
