okay, bumping this thread. I just finished the book and I thought it was marvelous. It was truly a lot more grotesque and violent than I expected. I thought it would be similar to the movie but... the book is beyond the movie's comprehension. The book is fucking twisted.

One of the most upsetting scene to me was [sp]when Bateman tie a woman up by his bedpost or something and melt her eyeballs with a lighter and a match - and then crush the woman's teeth with an electric screwdriver and then proceed to fuck her in the mouth.[/sp] I mean, fuck. I can understand why they shrinkwrapped the book in Australia and all.

Nothing like a detailed description of eye-melting and teeth-crushing to get you in the Christmas mood!
I watched AP for the first time on Netflix a few weeks ago and I must say I enjoyed it a lot. For the entire film I was half disturbed and half entertained. It was awesome.
