In all honesty it wasn't that bad of a game. I played way worse, the story was fun and the expansion of the resident evil universe is nice. Hopefully they can learn from this game and expand on a lot and improve.
no the game is complete shit. it was way too short, about 4 hours long.
Needs more this.

re4 was the best resident evil game IMO.
Leon is just a complete bad ass with the shit he went through.
Even after beating it dozens of times this game still has some fucking impossible spots like the fuck all room where you have to hoist ashley up and let her turn two cranks.
That room
I would be running through the castle, get to that room, and instantly 180 out of there, save, and turn off the game.
Eh, is the story worth renting for?

im in tears
Well that's a shame, was kinda interested in this.
Welp I guess I'll wait to but it when it's $10

I don't think its even worth the space and time to get it illegally.
i seriously don't see what's so bad about the pc version specifically
it looks nice, it runs alright (although the performance needs improvement but it's not crippled) and there's not much leftover stuff from the console version and it plays really well. my only complaint is boring story. the pc port is absolutely fine

The port is okay but the game itself is kinda shitty.
the guy playing in the video was an idiot, of course ur guns not gonna do much. you're using a shotgun at long range. and stop complaining that it shoots for you, just don't use that mode (you have to hold down spacebar for that. just don't use it fuck sake)
[editline]9th May 2012[/editline]
the gameplay is good, but the soldiers are not at all fun to fight and are bullet sponges, and the bosses are ridiculously op. the zombie killing is really fun though.
I swear that assault rifle is using a stock sound...
Its probably just me but it feels like Resident Evil games get away with being mediocre just because its Resident Evil.
[editline]9th May 2012[/editline]
I probably should say shitty instead of mediocre.
Resident evil 5 was... ok, wasn't better than 4, but at least it was better than raccoon city which is, without a doubt, these worst fucking game with the name resident evil.
This game is just a disaster. Don't buy it for PC or console and justr wait for re6

Okay when you pull out the pistol and it aimbots for you I lost it
this is a whole new level of games holding your hand
it thinks you're so incomptent it has to shoot your fuckin' gun for you
When I first heard about this game, I was really excited... Then I saw the game play, and decided to wait for a steam sale of $20 or less. Can't wait for RE6!

I think it's meant to be a sort of quick-reaction for enemies too close for comfort
But it's easily abusable and the pistol's essentially among the most accurate weapons anyway
Personally, the game seems unremarkable. Stupid AI all but forces you to play with friends, or random players even, for true enjoyment (while some might not find a problem with this, not everyone's so lucky); bland gunplay with a couple of RE gimmicks thrown in makes it feel stale; and the whole sales point of 'changing the RE timeline' is basically a last-minute decision that they didn't even bother digging into the implications of and don't really go further than a simple what-if for all of five minutes.
Some people like it, some people hate it, but ORC just feels like a massive missed opportunity.

Welp I'm off to play RE4 again.
Its kind of sad, not in a pathetic way, but in a sad way, that capcom will probably never make another game that plays like RE4.
RE5 Was the complete opposite of what made RE4 good, they fucked up the survival horror part, the difficulty, the stress, the resource conserving, pretty much everything, and just made it another third person action shooter with resident evil slapped on it.
RE6 will probably not be any of those, even judging by the trailer it looks shit with the resident evil logo slapped on it.
Why do companies do this, who honestly sat down at a meeting and thought RE5 was a good idea, like how do you go from making an incredibly well done and solid game, into a piece of shit, I want to meet those people.
Well, there is one ray of light out of this.
The original director of the first resident evil broke off of capcom (I think?) and is working on a REAL survival horror game.
So
We can hope.

shit this takes me back
that fucking boss fight had me shitting bricks when i was 10
the most stressful shit ever
re4 was so good
Am I the only one who didn't think RE4 was scary? I think that the newer Resident Evil games, while entertaining, are more akin to action games than survival horror.

It wasnt so much scary as it was stressful and making you feel weak.
Honestly the scariest game was Resident Evil 3 because of Nemesis
It made the game tense as fuck because on the first playthrough you'd just be going about and then you'd hear that gravely voice. "S.T.A.R.S..." and then you knew it was time for your ass to run, and unless you knew exactly what the fuck to do, and had a good weapon with a good amount of ammo your ass was grass.
since when resident evil was an action movie game
