Toby is still the best spiderman.
Not after this:

He's a great Spider-Man on both accounts, though I'd say his Peter Parker the best, certainly better than Garfield's, and that Garfield's Spider-Man is better.
Not after this:
Why do people hate this scene? He's supposed to look like a fucking jackass, he's become confident but it's only through relying on the symbiote that he gained that confidence. It's meant to show how the symbiote is corrupting him but it's doing it in a way that isn't cartoonish and played out. He doesn't become a dessicated wreck like most things with a corrupting force, he just becomes a knobhead.
Tobey was good but I always imagined Peter less whiney than Tobey was in couple of scenes. Garfield on the other hand seemed to energetic/jumpy in some his scenes. Hopefully Holland strikes the balance I'm waiting for. I think Garfield (althought he's 30 but the dude has some good aging genes) had a chance to be better Spidey than Tobey but he needed better direction and script in his movies.

He just acted out an awkward scene.
Not after this:
it's the writers fault, not the actor's.
I think spiderman's suit looks fine, just needs a few more eye folds and it'll be perfect
Someone make his face small. Like, "smol" small.

I still think the spidey suit from the tobey films is the best
Toby is still the best spiderman.
Toby is a shit actor and he made the Sam Raimi spiderman movies unwatchable for me.
Toby is a shit actor and he made the Sam Raimi spiderman movies unwatchable for me.
Your opinion is wrong.
Your opinion is wrong.
Naw, Sam Raimi's Spiderman movies are legit awful, especially 2 and 3. And anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
Naw, Sam Raimi's Spiderman movies are legit awful, especially 2 and 3. Surely the best before the MCU/Nolan Batman flicks.
Spider-Man 2 is a hunk of a shit. People who call it a masterpiece of superhero movies probably haven't seen it since it came out.
Your opinion is still wrong and is only getting more and more wrong.
If it makes you feel better, JK Simmons is the only good part of those movies.
If it makes you feel better, JK Simmons is the only good part of those movies.
JK Simmons is amazing and your opinion is still the opposite of being correct.
I fucking loved Doc Ock.
Your superhero fetish if getting in the way of knowing if a movie is bad or not.
Nope.
Most of the opinions regarding the original spiderman movies are biased by nostalgia to begin with. They came from this era of superhero movies where they were too scared to step away from the comic book format, so they're incredibly cheesy and rely on comic book tropes that don't translate well at all into movie format. The third movie is almost universally hated because it was the first legitimate attempt at completely stepping off the comic book rails and it failed thoroughly because it took all the wrong decisions. Sure, they're not bad movies, if only for the fact they're entertaining, funny and have a good cast of actors who fit the characters to a legendary degree. But they're not exactly the epitome of quality either and they have aged like milk. It's one of those series you can only really appreciate thanks to nostalgia.
agents of shield looks like the stuff you see on syfy

I see those Spider-Man films as Sam Raimi films first and Spider-Man films second, and they age like Sam Raimi films do, which imo, is like wine. The bar has been lowered significantly since SM3 came out. It's not nearly the across-the-board failure people remember it being. It's not good, but god damn, it doesn't have the final word on cinematic disasters.

I can't stand the other 2 films and I really genuinely do not like Tobey.
That's fine but I don't fucking care what you think of an actor. I'm not a fan of Tobey, or Kirsten, or James Franco, or any actor. They're tools that are a means to an end, and imo, the end was greater than the sum of its parts. They all complimented each other incredibly well. They weren't even believable performances, but that was far from the goal. Miles from it. Also, Sam Raimi is just way better than most people at staging action. Period. Even if Garfield is a more convincing peter, those movies is still visually boring and characterless as fuck. It's extremely clear that Marc Webb just isn't in the right head space for action.

I mean, for all of Spider-Man 3's faults, its still charming to a degree.
lmao what agents of shield is bottom of the barrel tier shit, its literally the worst thing ive seen out of the mcu and thats saying something the only parts i liked were the later half of season 1, then it went straight back into the shitter
Did you ever get past the first half of the first season? After the tie in with Winter Soldier it's gotten so much better. And it keeps getting better every half season/season.
Did you ever get past the first half of the first season? After the tie in with Winter Soldier it's gotten so much better. And it keeps getting better every half season/season.
honestly I can't take it seriously. I've seen every episode up to the end of the second season, watched a few of season 3 before I gave up. It's just.. too off-theme for the MCU I think. If it was written and produced like the Daredevil and Jessica Jones series, it would be a lot more engaging imo. and as far as I know the Marvel film writers and the AoS writers are two separate entities, where the AoS writers only get a few plot points from each marvel film but the show still has zero effect on the movies. I remember reading somewhere that someone on the Civil War set asked if the [sp]Inhumans now existing in the MCU like how the mutants do in X-men[/sp] was going to be brought up in the movie, and allegedly the writers had no idea what the guy was talking about. It's too disconnected. It's also kind of a weak reasoning, where if someone says "oh I watched a full season and I didn't like it" to then say "oh you have to watch more, it gets better". Nobody wants to put in the time to watch a show they already don't like on the basis of it might get better. I just want them to bring Coulson back into the movies already. Fuck
