Sam Raimi injects an ample amount of soul into any movie he touches. I mean, for all of Spider-Man 3's faults, its still charming to a degree.
The problem with Spiderman 3 is the huge disconnect between the overwhelming amount of plotlines you've got: - The James Franco rivalry with Parker, his own [sp]rise to villainy and redemption[/sp] - Sandman's introduction, backstory involving his daughter, the conflict regarding him [sp]shooting Uncle Ben, and another rise to villainy and redemption story[/sp] - Falling out between Peter and Mary Jane, her failing career, [sp]later involvement with Franco[/sp] - Parker's character development regarding the black suit - Eddie Brock's introduction, rivarly with Peter, turning into Venom And it's not like any of those is a side story. The movie allocates plenty of time and completely shifts focus towards the one that's relevant at the moment, which would be good if there weren't so many of them, if they didn't start intertwining only in the last quarter (also the weakest part of the movie), and if they didn't present a jarring amount of tonal inconsistency Cut it down to nothing but the Sandman story, or really anything that isn't the Venom one, and you've got a movie that's 10x better

they said they were getting pushed around by the studio and had to rush things i'm sure eddie brock was the key to all that meddling, he's a cheap character done cheaply, no doubt he exists only because "you need to stick venom in there" was the only thing in the execs' minds [editline]14th March 2016[/editline] damn i'm late spidey sense why you fail me
