I don't think that's fair, one stupid mistake shouldn't result in a right that you Americans hold in such high-esteem being removed from someone.
If they have a history of alcohol related offences, then sure.
A history?
Like how many?
Just a few weeks ago, there was a huge dustup between a few guys who had been painting our house. One of them got mad drunk and shot the other guy's dog. He had a few alcohol-related offenses under his belt, but he had purchased the handgun 100% legally.
I think that a single DWI over .08 should result in a license suspension of AT LEAST 5 years. It's 100% inexcusable.

Ownership suspensions would be more reasonable, if you wanted to compromise between the two sides.
3-year suspension after one offense, 5 for the next, permanent suspension for a third.
Hell, if an idiot keeps getting drunk and doing stupid things, that's one less potentially unstable person without a gun for almost a decade.
Then, at the end of the period, if he's serious about exercising his right to bear arms, he should quit doing stupid things.
Maybe a 5-year gun suspension for the first and permanent for the second.

And couple that with government-subsidized health care that covers rehab for alcohol and drugs so they have no fucking excuse for staying with the bottle.
Ehh, I think we got the thread off track again with gun law.
Re-railed:
My friend tried to convince me today that RPG-7s have an effective range of 3000m and a blast radius of 1000m. :downsbravo:
We had a debate about whether the IRA deserved their win over the Taliban on Deadliest Warrior based on weapons. He was trying to give the Taliban a massive advantage by playing that turd of information.
The original IRA (not the RIRA douchebags) wasn't a terrorist organization. They really were a rebel group that did pretty well for their cause.
Which IRA were they talking about? The PIRA?

A 1000m blast radius?
It would need to be an atomic weapon. Also they detonate themselves at far less than 300 yards, did you tell him that?
Well, I would say the Provisional, of course, but the Deadliest Warrior apparently either didn't know the difference, or realized that the PIRA has been called the IRA for 30-something years ( Wiki fact, not sure how much to trust that ).

I tried, but he's too stubborn to admit when he's wrong. He thinks the Taliban should have won purely because of their religious zeal, completely disregarding the complete experience advantage the IRA have.
Yeah, I had family in the Old IRA, so I'm kinda pissed at those RIRA clowns.
It's funny, I told him the actual specifications of the RPG-7, now he's trying to convince me that a shoulder-fired rocket is as/more accurate than a sniper's rifle.
"Dude, the wind is going to affect a bullet WAY more than a rocket"
I don't even know what to say.
Irish Sunglasses.
Give him a pair.

Do an article on the APS, it's a very interesting firearm.

I wanted to put it in Weeaboo weapons but it simply didn't meet the qualifications since it actually sees a surprising amount of use. It's even used by some countries other than Russia.
Not sure if it qualifies as a Fantastic Firearm either.
Owen SMG and Sterling SMG would be nice to see. Something else that could be interesting would be the Arwen, its a riot control weapon.
Something you may want to add to your FN FAL article regarding the L1A1. The British produced a highly effective and popular LSW version called the L1A2, although it didn't see service with the British, because of the Bren gun which was still in service. (And still is) The L1A2 was sold to Canada and the Aussies, the latter used it in Nam where it was a popular weapon. It even had an extended 30 round mag. However, it was the GPMG that killed it.
Would this be the right place to ask about an airgun?

Yes
you forgot the good old don't get your hand torn open by the slide rule for pistols.
I Once saw a person at the range who rented a 1928 thompson, the recoil was too much for the guy and he got bullets in the ceiling

I don't even know how to get slidebite. I once tried to see how you would do it OTHER than having gargantuan hands and trying to use a pocket pistol.
I couldn't figure out how to do it.
Privilege?
Hahahahah, no sorry.
Driving is a privilege, gun ownership is a constitutional right.
This argument is ridiculous. It's a matter of civil rights. END OF DISCUSSION.
Just because it's in the Constitution doesn't mean they can't take it away.
Felons can't vote, for example.
Felons can't own guns.
Why shouldn't people liable to cause injury by owning a gun (alcoholics) be able to own guns? Do you really want to be out hunting and have the knowledge that a guy is out there who just knocked back 5 beers?

This is an example of what a buckshot shell can do to a watermelon (not all that different to someone's head):

Imagine that as someone's head. You will be more careful.

Okay, well, first things first, how loud is one? Not a hunting airgun, just a cheap .177. The only reason I want an airgun instead of a .22 or something is so I can shoot it in my yard, which isn't all that big. I don't want to disturb my neighbours or anything.
What's the average range of one?
How much does it penetrate? I'm planning on shooting it at a cardboard box from 15 or 20 meters away. There's about 10 more meters and there's a concrete wall about 6 inches thick. Will it bounce off the wall or get stuck in it?
And what's a cheap brand that doesn't suck?

$20 Daisy Buck 105's are perfect. They fire around 300 fps and are pretty accurate. They have a small report, but nothing your neighbors will shit themselves over. They're also minuature compared to other airguns, and they're not bad to hold & fire comfortably. I have long limbs and it's still pleaseant to shoot. Albeit, your hand will get sore after working the lever over and over again, but you get a workout.
You can pick these little suckers up at Walmart which isn't exactly a presitigous gun dealer, but these things are fun and well worth the small price. Cut a Coke can in half from about 75 feet, I did.

The noise is very slight, comparable to popping a potato chip bag.
You'll also want to buy the proper cleaning equipment if your gun doesn't come with it; rust has now taken over most of a section of my trusty Daisy ( which, by the way, is an excellent brand ).

Actually, it's quite different. Human flesh is much more elastic and is reinforced by bone, which is much tougher than a watermelon.

Is say it qualifies considering what it does/what it's used for/how much it is used.

I'm trying to scare them.
But shooting that watermelon was awesome. It went everywhere.

Kid down here in Maryland a few years back took his dads pistol, chambered a round and took the mag out, went up to his girlfriend and in front of all his friends (was some party at his house), put the gun up to his head and said "You think it's loaded?" and pulled the trigger. Was told this story when I took my hunters safety course in order to get my hunting license.
