Anyone know a good place to pick up some stripper clips (or possibly a whole bandolier?) for a Springfield 1903? I googled but half the websites that came up looked sketchy.
HK USP (maybe a customized version or some shit?) Ruger Mk III Springfield XD amirite?
Nope! The HK is an 8 shot standard I think? I think it's called a "Squeeze cocker". It's not custom. The Ruger looks close. I think it's the 1911? The third is incorrect. It's got a short stock? It's a 9mm. I'm not sure. I could find out the names and all the low down on all three tomorrow at some point.
Do you mean that the Ruger had a 1911 style grip? I have a Ruger .22 like that. [editline]01:45AM[/editline] And that squeeze grip is called a beaver tail, I think.
Do you mean that the Ruger had a 1911 style grip? I have a Ruger .22 like that.
I know diddlypip about guns, so I'll have to ask the guy I went shooting with. He was impressed that I could hit a target the size of a nickel at 15 yards when it was my first time firing pistols.
[editline]01:45AM[/editline] And that squeeze grip is called a beaver tail, I think.
Like I said, I will ask and find out the models of all three.
I think he means a grip safety mechanism.
Browning buckmark maybe?
I think he means a grip safety mechanism.
You have to squeeze the grip every time you want to shoot as that is the safety mechanism. So I assume the terminology would be "you have toe squeeze the grip to cock the gun."
What the hell kind of bizarre pistol was that? As was stated, only a grip safety comes close. And you don't have to squeeze anything, it just automatically disengages the safety when you hold the firearm. EDIT: Looks like it was a P7. Hahah what a piece of shit. How much does it usually cost to be in a firearms club? Is it a one time pay thing or do you need to pay annually + cost of ammunition, etc.
How much does it usually cost to be in a firearms club? Find a friend with a lot of property out in the country, or see if there are any state-ran ranges near (the park service might be able to hook you up). Membership at ranges usually means they're nicer and have more responsible guests, but who cares about that anyway???
Yeah well, my local RA centre has a gun club and I wanted to know if you usually have to pay for ammunition or they provide it for you.
Some places charge, some don't. In my opinion and personal experience, use your own ammunition, hand loaded or otherwise. I went to a range in FL once and they provided me with one box of PMC 7.62x39 for the SKS I had brought along... loaded them up, and on the third round I'm not sure what happened, but I guess the bolt didn't chamber the next round properly and ended up shoving the point of the bullet against the side of the magazine. Gun was well cleaned and oiled, and the bolt was in proper working order before I left. I laugh at it now, but it was a "holy shit" moment at that point, because the bullet had actually gotten shoved back into the casing, where only the very tip of it was visible. After that I loaded some surplus Wolf into it, and they ran just fine... needless to say I have never picked up any PMC again.
Yeah well, my local RA centre has a gun club and I wanted to know if you usually have to pay for ammunition or they provide it for you.
I'm pretty sure you'll be paying for your own. It's simpler that way, considering the variety in ammo and firearms that launch them out there.
Yeah well, my local RA centre has a gun club and I wanted to know if you usually have to pay for ammunition or they provide it for you.
Judging by the way you spelled "center" (centre?) you live in some wacky upside down ass backwards place that isn't America. But you'll most likely have to buy it, I've only heard of a few places providing ammo and that's after you already paid a sum for the practice, like skeet shooting or the like.

I hear that it's the standard issue pistol for New Jersey state troopers. But as I said before, I know nothing about guns. Until recently I wasn't a fan of private ownership of guns, but now i'm thinking about buying a pistol of some sort. Absolutely not a revolver though.

They're easier to maintain and depending on what kind you get can have more than a reasonable number of shots. Not to mention you can get something like a .357 magnum and use .38 special in it instead. Get something like a Taurus Tracker, it has 7 shots and can fire either .357 magnum or .38 special. My friend has one and it's a lot of fun to shoot, it's double action as well. Here's a pick:

You don't like the style?
I'd probably buy a revolver if I had the money, but it wouldn't be the first gun I get.

I own many guns, probably too much, but I keep a Smith & Wesson model 60 under my seat in my car, loaded at all times. In the event (god forbid) I need to use it from my car, the revolver won't eject the spent casings like a semi automatic pistol.
I want to know, if all these wikipedia made ballistics experts we have, have ever shot a gun.
I want to know, if all these wikipedia made ballistics experts we have, have ever shot a gun.
Dr. Mortician, Linelor, professional, they all own guns and have fired them. Bean-O also owns a couple.
I want to know, if all these wikipedia made ballistics experts we have, have ever shot a gun.
I doth believe most have. I have... I don't claim to be an expert though.
The ejection of spent casings is the least of your worries.
Well obviously, but under the circumstances I would rather the shell casings weren't lying around
