It is pretty easy the way I did. Sand away old finish, restain with varnish, apply some clear oil to keep water away (I used motor oil).

If I recall, CYMA is based in China, which likes to hunt down and destroy airsoft manufacturers located there. While they're too popular to go out business, they can still be shut down by the government, but news of that would be EVERYWHERE, so no worries.
