at that point why not just wear goggles?
I'm surprised you can use that ACOG with that mask on. I don't see why there aren't any masks that are just missing the right cheek area so you can sight your gun.
I don't think you've ever been hit on the cheek by a high powered bb. That shit hurts. A whole lot. I can use it easily, I just tilt the gun a little and it's all fine, but the HUGE stock isn't really helping.. it's awesome without mask on, though.
That wasnt directed at you, more at the person suggesting a half facemask
Ah, okay.

I know how much it hurts. Also I'm not saying to remove an entire half, just a chunk out of the bottom right, so the left side as well as your mouth are still masked. Or even better, have it made of leather so it reduces the pain while still being flexible to allow you to use a cheekrest.
how does it shoot?
just got back from work, went to the local airsoft shoppe and shoots glorious ~360-370FPS with .20s looks like it has the domestic Jap air nozzle for low FPS bbwarz shenanigans
[t]http://i.imgur.com/eIK4U1H.jpg[/t]
That went all the way in, or what? You must've gotten shot in the face pointblank or with a gun that was shooting at or around 500, because I've never seen something that bad outside those conditions. This is literally why my local field only has a 400 limit.

Every person has their chrono written on their wristband, and its checked pregame. I was shot from ~20 feet for all three of those bloody welts, including the huge one on my lip. Actually had to get first aid for that one. So sub400 fps at 20 feet did that.

Eventually we got a ref to look into it, but I'm not sure what happened with it. Just saying, it's not impossible for someone to have skirted the rules, even for one match.

I actually know the guy who got that hit on me, and his gun shoots in the upper 300's. He's a ref at the field, so he isn't doing any cheating.
I think people underestimate just how much damage sub400fps guns can do, especially at close range
[t]http://i.imgur.com/eIK4U1H.jpg[/t]
fuck me that's a good one
fuck me that's a good one
A few weeks before this, a guy with a white shemagh took a hit like that to the forehead, and anyone who has ever gotten a cut on the forehead will know how much that bleeds. His shemagh looked like it had been dipped in koolaid.
I was gonna not run lower face pro for the op tomorrow. But phuck that.
I was gonna not run lower face pro for the op tomorrow. But phuck that.
Try just using a bandana or something, still get the blunt pain but not the "oh shit that went inside me" pain.
After losing a tooth i don't think i'd ever airsoft without a brassguard ever again. Mine is a pain in the ass to use with helmets and my goggles to some extent but I'd rather be mildly uncomfortable than have less teeth.
If you want to be an airsoft skirmisher and don't fancy a trip to A&E, don't worry about getting camo, helmets and expensive military grade assault vests - get yourself a good pair of full seal goggles, a mouth guard (brass or neoprene) and a good pair of boots. The number of people I see take tooth/lip injuries is ridiculous, and lots of people still insist on wearing basic shooting glasses. I've seen someone take a shot to the eyelid while wearing shooting glasses, it wasn't pretty. Shots to fingernails, lips, teeth and ears can be very bad. Unless you want the back of your hand getting all gnarled up after a few years of airsoft you'll want gloves too, because that is one of the places you will get hit very often. Don't pretend airsoft isn't potentially dangerous. The projectiles are lighter, but also smaller and harder. They deliver a pretty large amount of inflexible kinetic energy compared to paintballs, which burst over a wider area. Someone takes an injury every couple of few games and we still all pretend it's completely harmless.

I love Tanaka's but god damn. They're expensive. $1,000 for that rifle alone. $250 for a SIG 226. $500 for 870. And than they're all fragile as hell, but damn do they look fine.
How does it hold up? Everything of good quality?
I'm not that good with Airsoft weapons but I have to say, it's really good, I think I got it off one of the swedish airsoft sites but I cant remember what the name of it was.
"the ak5 is the old version of the ak47"-some kid at my school
Yes. Because letters followed by numbers indicate lineage.
Well, the AK5 did in fact succeed the AK4...
And the AK74 did succeed the AK47...
