The 727 is only temporarily in bits until i can actually get the barrel onto the new A2 upper, but it's stiff as fuck so i'll need to borrow my brother's receiver clamp block. I also have to solder new connectors onto the motor wires, but i don't have any spade connectors right now. Since it's all G&P and rearwired i can just swap between the 733 upper and the 727 upper (once it's done) at will. it's back!!!!!!!!!!! Need to do some filing or drilling to the pin holes to make them fit and pin in a sling loop, but it's sturdy as fuck just with the grub screw. Missing a charging handle too since the one that came with the gearbox doesn't fit despite everything being G&P.

G&P retro AR club. As much as I love G&P they do have a tendency to not fit well with each other. For example I just threw a relatively new, as in <2 years old gearbox in my old ass XM177E1. I have no idea how old it is but it's old. Does anyone know when they switched from "dust covers that can't stay open" to "dust covers that can't stay closed"? Because mines the former. I have an XM177 flash hider and a pencil barrel lying around somewhere tempting me so hard but i don't have a slickside upper and probably the wrong lower so it'd feel so wrong if i put it on there. Also, my new hop up unit just refuses to fit in either of my G&P barrels, which is why it's missing in those pictures. Such is life.

Is that what you've got? I only have a 733/C7 upper with the forward assist and case deflector, my only slickside upper is staying on my M231. The lower on my M727/M733 right now is a full fenced one without the A2's reinforcements but it has A2 markings so i'm really not sure what the hell it came from. I think it's the same as the one i butchered for my M231, since i know that's got A2 markings and a full fence.

hows the eye relief on that kind of scope? i want one for my 727

It's admittedly not great, i have to slide in the stock to the first notch on the tube to use it but it's not all that uncomfortable like that.

Put the scope where you get the clearest sight picture when you shoulder your gun, that's what I do.

I'd say remove it, but thats personal preference. It makes your gun look very airsofty. Though not everyone wants their shit to look real, so its up to you.

Agreed. If you actually need the magnification, put it wherever the eye relief is best. If you're in it for the looks, scrap it and try to get something like an Elcan.

My personal favorite non-magnified for the 417 is a low t1, but not everyone can get a good sight picture with them on AR platforms.

Hmm.. thoughts? The polymer lower is the original handguard that came on the T56-2 originally (same as the pistol grip). I like the way it feels but the AKMS wood one is still so much sexier, and it has the palm swell. I do kinda like the mis-matched look of the gun in its current form though.
