I got a big pistol [t]http://i.imgur.com/vTDvW7N.jpg[/t]
this makes me wibbly wobbly in my jimmies
I got a new weapon light. It's fuckmassive, bright as balls, and I'm quite happy with it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/5nYYk88.png[/t] Got it used so it didn't come with all the fancy shit in the pics, but it's still nice. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessories/flashlights/weapon-flashlights/gandp-vli-x9-weapon-cree-led-flashlight-170-lumens.html
IIRC that's like, an oldschool Mk18 Mod.0 weaponlight.
Is it? Sweet. I bought it because I liked it, didn't know it had any kind of real-steel history behind it. Got any info on the real one?
Only that you can see one (sans that dumb rail) in this image Which, it's been said that these are airsoft rifles, but the aimpoints all appear to be real so I don't really know what to think. [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] And here's another image, not on a Mk18 but definitely real [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] Okay fuck me spoke too soon, those Mk18s above are definitely airsoft, don't know about the optics though as the Aimpoints still look real (weird) but anyways the reason I thought it was a Mk18 weapon light is because that is the only photo of it I've ever ever EVER seen of one actually mounted on any sort of weapon before, so it seems memory has served me poorly. That said I can't find any info on whether that's even based on a real light or not, so my bad for the misinformation, sorry!
All those heat sinks in the top pic [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] but yeah wtf with the real aimpoints
but yeah wtf with the real aimpoints
My guess is some sort of training/simulation. Probably the best explanation for why there would be that many airsoft Mk18s in almost the exact same configuration all in one place with real aimpoints.
Would make sense, as they all appear to be Systemas. Look how slim the grips are.
Systema grips don't have bases like that, those look like AEGs. This is what a systema grip base looks like, just 4 screws and no heatsink or height adjustment: [t]http://www.evike.com/images/large/Grip_GP_SYS13B-1.jpg[/t]
Oh, my mistake. But the grips do seem to be much slimmer than regular AEG ones.
I think it's just the angle. I do agree they look a bit slimmer than AEGs normally do, but they still look fatter than systema/real grips.
VFC maybe? They make a Mk18 MOD 0 and their pistol grips are in between AEG standard and real steel
The blog post said that they were put together for a bunch of people then went their separate ways, and the photo was taken at some sort of airsoft game or gathering. Could have been a bunch of rich asian folk as they often do that sort of crazy shit. The Surefires are probably real as well as this pic is so old they didn't have trademarked surefire replicas at that time, to my knowledge.
My Galaxy MP5k, in not-anti-notrabies configuration while I wait for the stock adapter and suppressor to come in. Rewired the battery and gun to deans, the 11.1 lipo is just a few millimeters thicker than the stock battery so getting it in the battery tube was an absolute pain. I'm probably never going to be able to take it out as it's jammed in there, charging it inside the gun is still ok right? Also it bent the plastic top of the receiver (where the rail mounts to) outwards from being so thick so now the eotech is slightly canted but whatever.
I can't seem to find those anywhere in stock (though I haven't checked in a while), whered you get it?
I can't seem to find those anywhere in stock (though I haven't checked in a while), whered you get it?
Local store. Here's their website pretty sure you can order one and shipping is pretty cheap. http://weaponblender.com/Galaxy-G5-MP5K-PDW-p3524.html They had a bunch of them stacked on a counter when I went in. [editline]24th July 2014[/editline] Warning they're backordered on KA mp5 midcaps so don't order them off their site even though it says they're in stock.
holy shit thats a good price, why is it so cheap? the ones I saw on evike and airsoftgi was like $130-150
holy shit thats a good price, why is it so cheap? the ones I saw on evike and airsoftgi was like $130-150
No idea. Probably because everything inside the box other than the gun is absolute crap. It comes with a cheapo tamiya battery and charger, baggy of mystery bbs, sling that broke from just handling it, speedloader that jams 99% of the time, and a hicap and short lowcap that I honestly haven't tried using yet. The gun is solid though (as anyone will testify).
It's been mentioned before that the EXPS replicas are always slightly canted on any rail. Also I am excite of your project potential emerging.

I got a stick airsoft lipo so it would fit better and I still had to take the mp5k apart to put it in. It looks good though!
Does the receiver cant in the opposite direction of the eotech, therefore making it centered? :v:
Does the receiver cant in the opposite direction of the eotech, therefore making it centered? :v:
If only, then that would be perfect. It cants in the same direction...so it's even more canted than before. Doesn't really bother me that much though maybe it'll look a bit weird for pictures but functionally it's all the same.
Painted Midi controllers for friends before but painting something like this is a whole new level. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/jp8xFd.png[/t] [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/ITzviE.png[/t] I think it turned out pretty good. (not visible in the picture is the masked off sights and its markings, the colours look darker and more saturated on the pic as well.. its quite mat and flat.. also the transition between shades is more gentle than it appears here)
