Looks really good. I like the gun in general, but, I'd personally use a different Vert grip out of preference, but I think it's really tasteful otherwise and will look even better with some nice, light, even wear.
I'm scared to do it myself actually, I thought I'd just allow it to happen as I run it.. Any recommendations? (tricks, tips and tutorials are welcome!) Thanks.
very very very VERY VERY fine sand paper or steel wool, apply lightly around any edges, avoid scuffing flat areas. Set on gravel, rocks, or sand, and rub the gun around. If you trust it, you could even drop it a few times. Use a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a rag to remove paint from areas where your hands make contact with the gun. Do this lightly anywhere that the gun is handled frequently; Bolt carrier, pistol grip, handguards, where you get cheek weld on the stock. If possible, apply some brown or tan spray paint to the mag, and then wipe it clean with alcohol and a rag, leaving paint in hard to reach places to make it look used and dirty. Other than those things, you'll have to let it wear naturally. Just handle the gun a lot, fondle it frequently, and it'll acquire some character.

You should stick some wooden handguards on, maybe dirty up those shiny silver pins too. Do the Khyber pass folks even know what a picatinny rail is?
It's a WIP, but I'm eventually gonna get wood handguards, a bakelite pistol grip, and redo the whole finish
Painted Midi controllers for friends before but painting something like this is a whole new level. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/jp8xFd.png[/t] [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/ITzviE.png[/t] I think it turned out pretty good. (not visible in the picture is the masked off sights and its markings, the colours look darker and more saturated on the pic as well.. its quite mat and flat.. also the transition between shades is more gentle than it appears here)
Looks awesome, how'd you do it? I've been thinking of doing this to my ICS for a while now.
Fosco cans from Airsoft4u.nl, first 2 thin layers of primer and then just merge the colours as you go (Marsh grass first, then black and finish it with a light Forest green coat) after that just hit it with the clear coat for a couple of layers! Here's how the colours sorta look like with primer underneath: Fuck I might even change schemes with every season! Also, thanks Herfjotur.. dem tips helped me out a great deal! [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/8XojEY.png[/t] Clicky for fullres glory.. 8Xe are the last 3 characters of my official license, lill tribute to the guys that made this possible in our country I guess. I'll stop posting for a while now :v
It's a sad state of world affairs when you need a license to own a toy gun.
I also really want to try painting a gun for the first time but my MP5k isn't a gun that is usually seen in an environment where it would look weathered and all. Typically kept pristine by LE/SWAT so a paintjob and weathering would look kinda out of place on an MP5k. Although I did find this MP5SD that looks pretty rad.
Seals had MP5SDs that they'd ziptie a kac rail onto and paint.

Per our laws, anyone who uses a fake/toy/imitation firearm in a crime will receive the same punishment as if they had used a real gun. We also have the whole, orange tip thing, but there's really no punishment for removing said orange tip (aside from getting shot by cops with real guns, as several stupid children have found out recently after removing their orange tips and wandering around in public with them and refusing to comply with police orders to drop their "weapons")
I have always wanted to paint my shitty m4 but if i screw up i probably cant buy a new gun in a while.
Use paint thinner, or just paint over the old job.

I couldn't remember what they were called so I just said zipties, thanks for the correction!
I'm going to have to do the same thing if I want a taclight on my MP5k since there's zero rail space on it. And I'm not even sure how that'll work out either.

In here a lot of the things this government does feels like they're handling a bunch of babies who can't take responsibility for goddamn everything. Sad thing is that's true way too often.
I kinda like it for a different reason, it's 18 plus only for us. No offense to cool 16/17 year olds who play fair etc etc but yeah.. Call of Dooty kids .. no thanks.
About 180-200fps with 0.12s - Springer Super strong plastic body. Pros: No MED Cons: None

No offense to the underage IFAP bros, but the vast majority of under-18s I've seen in American airsoft are shit-nosed little Cawadooty kids who have no respect for those of us who have been playing for years and know what we're talking about, generally have no respect for anyone else either, think they know everything about guns and gear because they've played every CoD ever made, and act like their shit don't stink. Part of why I haven't been actively playing airsoft for the past couple years. If I wanted to babysit a bunch of obnoxious little prats I'd go hang out at a daycare. Not saying all underage players are like that, but there's no denying that most of them are.

They don't have an age limit, but its a training facility before its an airsoft place, so the environment is more serious and less speedbally. Real, tight quib, structures laid out like actual buildings, doors blocked with plywood strips/dowels for kicking through and stuff like that. Slow is fast and all that shit.
When/what the fuck is this? I have to come.
Where do you live again Herf? I might just have to come visit lol
DTK Supply, Marietta
Mousecop and I might have to make a trip out there one day..
Its also apparently low turnout, so Zao, we need to go fuck that place up. If you're returning to Misery for school soon though, we can't. I'm in Pensacola for a month.
