I was offered an ARES TAR21 for really, really cheap.. I'm quite tempted to buy it, as I have a spare polarstar fusion engine, which I would fit in the TAR21.

Go / no go?

I used to have an ARES Tavor and externally it was pretty damn nice, so if you're just going to rip the guts out anyway (easily the weakest point of all ARES products) I'd say go for it.

Stock adaptor is fantastic. The UMP stock needed a little filing inside but now it's a super tight fit.

This thing feels almost as long and unwieldy as my soc16 but I love it anyways.

All I have left to do now is install the 300mm tbb, concave spacer, and prommy purple bucking and then I can advertise it as a ~DMR~ on local fb groups.

Right now I've got regular KA MP5 midcaps. I was seriously considering straight mags when I was making the build, so it's a possibility. Angel Custom only makes 48rd midcaps, so I'll probably have to go with Echo1. [url]http://www.evike.com/products/46923[/url]

Yesterday I got my first airsoft gun, an AGM MP40

I got the one with the brown imitation bakelite grips, some extra magazines and a pair of pouches.
This thing is awesome, it looks gorgeous and it has a nice weight to it.
Haven't been able to shoot it yet because I don't have any room in my apartment but I'll probably be trying it out at a friends house soon.

2 soft/light layers of primer, 2/3 layers of Fosco Woodland Green and finished it with 4 layers of Fosco Matte clear coat (spread out over 2 days so it had time to set).
The paint on the pic was still wet when I took it, got it secured in the living room to let it dry for a day or two.

I probably could have gotten better paint (American stuff maybe?) but I don't mind wear and the gun was pretty cheapo anyways.

Krylon Camouflage is definitely the [I]go to[/I] paint for camo'ing guns in airsoft, but its not the be all and end all of it, any decent matt acrylic paint will do if you can get it in good [I]camo[/I] colours.

And its good you don't mind wear because its an almost certainty regardless of how much prep you do.
