On the topic of Ramirez's gun, I agree with Taiwan. Sure it might look a bit foolish to some people but he put the effort and imagination in to overhaul his gun into something he likes. Most people run around with the same guns everyone has seen a million times, just in different variations, but I rarely if not ever see someone with a type of gun they thought up of and made themselves. Yeah most people like their airsoft guns to be accurate replicas of the real steel counterpart but I like when people break away from the norm in airsoft and try something other than a 100% military theme.
At the least we can say something positive about what he did rather than bag on him because he did something/a design we wouldn't do. That's like when you hear about kids being restricted from being creative by their teachers at schools.
If I had the inspiration [along with patience] and a cheap spare gun I'd totally try something different. Maybe a really unique post apocalyptic gun that doesn't look like the one it was made out since there's so much you could do with it out of cheap parts from a hardware store, kind of like what Ramirez did with his handguard.
When I was 14 I had an LPEG MP5 that I removed the handguard and flash hider from, and stuck a cylindrical vacuum cleaner attachment over the length of the barrel in place of them.
The result was a thin cylindrical style AR-15 handguard.
The gun looked and functioned terribly, and I eventually removed the handguard and dremel tooled the exposed barrel and part of the lower receiver off turning it into an MP5 pistol...thing.
It still had a stock.
Hurray, adventurous youths.
tbh the only reason I bought the 140% recoil spring is because I saw this video and he uses a plastic slide and 150% spring

The closest fields are 20 to 90 miles away. we trespass on old paintball arenas, empty parking lots, and industrial dump sites.
Airsoft is a contemporary combat-focused successor to schoolyard games like tag and capture the flag.
The hip/blindfire thing makes sense for CQB in order to maintain a standard of sportsmanship. But for field use it's kind of redundant. Who wants to waste 50 cents of bbs and battery life on trees?
As for my trigger guard, it's history, as is the safety.

I drive 90 miles to my local field.
Man up and play at a normal field or don't play at all. Airsoft as a sport doesn't need fucks like you ruining everything for the rest of us.
If my car got better mileage and I earned 20 dollars more per hour than I do? I'd [I]gladly [/I] straighten up and join the ranks of people who goof hard or go home.
