Trust me when i say im not upset over this, but i am exasperated. You guys are missing the memo that it's NOT MY GUN. Nothing that has been done to it(tape included) was not done without me and my dad agreeing on it. And, if i'm honest? My dad runs shit how HE wants it run, not how YOU GUYS want it run. While i take most everything you guys say into consideration, he won't. I can tell you right now, they is a 0% chance that he would let me deface the only receiver we have for his gun. Tape is as far as he's willing to go, because he doesn't like the trades either. SO. If you have comments that concern the trades, please, PLEASE don't voice them. I'm not the one to ask, because, again, it's not my gun. Last time i tried doing stuff with his gun without him, i messed up a motor. I think you are also blurring the lines between ownership here, and i don't mean between me and my dad. You guys seem to make a ton of comments telling other people how they should run their weapons, how they should use them, etc. There is a fine line between giving a suggestion, such as "Hey, i noticed you're using X optic. I think for your purposes, a Y optic would work a lot better for you for Z reason." And then there's "You should do this because it would look more aesthetically pleasing to me." I shouldn't have to defend or explain why my DAD does something with HIS gun. So instead of nitpicking tiny, pointless shit, how about we....enjoy the pictures?
I'm at a loss for words at how stupid you sound. Who said they'd rather have goatse on their receiver than the trademarks?? You're already covering it in tape AND buying a new receiver just to get rid of them? Why the fuck not then? But most importantly- why are vomiting an entire novel to tell us something that's not only wrong, but incredibly stupid?
"You should do this because it would look more aesthetically pleasing to me."
Are you forgetting that you are the one bitching about how terrible they look? And your dad doesn't care about the trademarks, but you're still buying him an entire new lower just to get rid of them? You clearly want the trademarks gone so I gave you a suggestion on how to fix it. It's not my concern, nor my responsibility that it's someone else's gun, when you're coming here to post it and make comments about things you want to change. \
I shouldn't have to defend or explain why my DAD does something with HIS gun.
Except that you told us verbatim that YOU did something with SOMEONE ELSES gun. So bull to that.
you guys are so ridiculous, if the guy wants tape on his gun let him tape his gun. The final line is it's his gun, he can have it painted pink with laser etched dicks on it if he wants
He made it very clear that it's NOT HIS GUN.
Why does all the stupid shit only happen with me...? I really don't feel like arguing. Can we just leave it be? I taped over the trades. Who cares? Is it REALLY a big enough deal to raise our blood pressures over? Ask yourself that. Is this battle REALLY worth that much?
It's more like you got all up in arms about how I questioned you/your dad putting tape on a gun when it does look worse than leaving the trades, (or, you know, stripping the lower and giving it a nice few coats of engine block paint) and you going on about how we tell everyone else what to do with their guns which is completely unfounded.

It's not for me, which is why it's ending right here. Talk about the photos, post new photos, or just don't say anything at all. That's what this thread is for, not stupid butthurt comments about taped over trades, over all things.
The battle? [editline]2nd June 2013[/editline] You were the only one freaking out about it.
i mean it's not really much of a battle, but nobody really made stupid butthurt comments, you posted your guns, we commented on it, and you typed out this big long post and so did biscuit boy over something trivial that we were merely commenting on, but okay.
I typed a sentence, he typed a paragraph (and a stupid one at that), so I typed a paragraph. Ask and you shall receive.
what is this, IFAP 2011? stop being shitty posters
hey everyone shut the fuck up it's over

[editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] Okay that shit's wack yo git outta here killa [editline]3rd June 2013[/editline] i fite u
Me and my friend did a massive overhaul on my JG BAR 10 this week. First we started by sanding the old paint job and rubber coating on the stock off. Next step was to stipple the grip and the front of the stock with a soldering iron. Not sure if anyone here has ever done this but holy shit does this take a long time, especially if you have a shitty iron that doesn't get very hot. You literally have to make every little indent, probably took us 4-5 hours of work to do that. After that was done we sanded the stippling down. Next step was to give each part a coating of sand color spray paint. Once that dried we tied some fishnet stockings around each part and applied some darker brown and green spray paint. While the stock and other parts were drying I began upgrading the internals. Dropped in an aluminum piston, another spring that I have no idea what power it is, and a firefly hop-up bucking. A threaded barrel adapter was purchased but it's not threading properly into the barrel. This is the end result. I never really understood how to stipple, it seems like it'd take foreeeever.
As far as I understand you literally just take a soldering iron and push it into the polymer or plastic to make an indent, and just keep repeating until the entire surface is covered in divots. Although they did do a larger area than most would (usually it's just a few spots on a pistol or rail cover) but damn, 4-5 hours is definitely a long time. Hopefully it paid off though.
It's probably the best feeling gun I have right now, was well worth the time. It's nice having a rifle that you can look at and say "I made that". Stippling is pretty much taking a hot soldering iron and just pressing it down on the plastic til it melts to the desired depth. Once we had our super hot iron going it would only take say a tenth of a second to melt the dimple size we wanted. We were getting faster at it towards the end, think I managed to do a quarter of the grip in 30 minutes. For our first time I think it came out pretty well.
Giving children living in poverty what they really need since 2013 [t]https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/971947_10151664322164400_538437947_n.jpg[/t] Thumb'd because the pic's almost as big as my ego.
I never really understood how to stipple, it seems like it'd take foreeeever.
Patience, a soldering iron, and enough plastic fumes to make you so batshit insane you act like CrazyNCman

Fuck, thought I was on e621 when I saw this, that skin is so sexual [SUB] Yes I'm a faggot buy my game [/SUB]

really unnatural wear. I'd do a wipe down with a rag in nail polish remover and catch everything except the cracks.
That's actually what I did, acetone in a rag. It wouldn't come off the grip or stock very easily, and I don't know why the paint is on the raised part of the rail but not the lower, but I'm pretty happy with it and I think I'll just see how it weathers with time and lots of fondling because I actually like it the way it is, unnatural or no.
It does look pre neat tbh
thx bb :) Although I'll agree there's some parts that I'm not even sure how I managed to get them that way TBH, like the fact that the rails are the complete opposite of how they should have turned out baffles me
it looks fine, mix toothpaste with some acetone and wipe it down a tiny bit and you'll get some sexy results
Where do these photos keep coming from [t]http://db.tt/r848gv74[/t] Unrelated can someone please suggest how I might get bleddy Flash Gordon out of my head?

Just finished installing my MOE grip and as the weathers so nice I thought I'd take the opportunity to get a snap of it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Pm1sfj3.jpg[/t]
