Continuing my Model 727 build, using an A1 upper because I don't have an A2 upper yet also because i am poor. Missing some parts though, as it seems regular M4 dust covers are too small to fit over an A1 ejection port, and the pivot pole that the cover slides on with is too wide in diameter to fit in the A1's mount hole.
Waiting on a metal lower receiver that fits this one, slim handguards (can't find those in stock ANYWHERE) and maybe a dummy bolt or something, who knows. The gun will use a Tokyo Marui gearbox, but I'll probably change to spring to that of another gun so it's a little more skirmishable.

I was VERY tempted to take a standard WE G36k and slap on dual sights at one point
The dual sights are so worthless but it really does make the look of the G36K and G36.

Considering the entire point of an M727 is that it's an M16A2 carbine, it's probably worth just referring to it as something else if you don't have an A2 upper.
With an A1 upper and M4 barrel, what you've got currently is pretty much an USAF GUU-5P. Pretty much any lower + sliding stock and A1 pistol grip would be correct to finish a build like that.

It's a UTG Gen 5. The scope I got works pretty good for just having one scope ring. The eye relief is really close for it.

A tad short for my preference, but I've got long, spindly arms, and I haven't actually fielded it yet, so who knows, I may change my mind. After action report tomorrow hopefully
How does the cheek rest on the buffer tube feel to you? It does seem a bit odd, but it seems like it might work well.
Surprisingly comfortable. Plus the fact that it's metal means it cools down my face :v:

The magazine that came with it was a terribad hi-cap made out of Chinese plastic that feeds worse than a deadbeat father, so I ordered a spare magazine but it was uhh..... a lot smaller than I anticipated (and now looks goofy as fuck).
