King Arms SVD fitted with a scope I got with my ill-fated Bar10
Comrades, just ordered a PKM. Evike has them on sale for 380 for the next day, if anyone wants to join the club. Pics upon arrival ;)
My refinished AKS-74U handguard finally decided to dry properly (or my patience started kicking in). Therefore, I decided to arrange a little photoshoot outside.
Backstory for the AKS-74U:
Started out as a Dboys steel 74UN. The finish was stripped, and it was cold blued. Turns out that heavy skirmishing in rain really makes it rust, so I decided to give it an oven-cured spray-on finish. I also bought LCT wooden handguards and gas-tube. I didn't like the finish of the wood, so I mixed up some proper shellac and stained the wood with some iodine tincture. I also used a dremel to shape the handguards a little better. A few days ago my Ukrainian tourniquet and Soviet field dressing kit arrived. There also is an LCT steel folding stock somewhere in the mail (it is more realistic than the dboys version).

Then there is the VFC AK-74:
When I first got it, the stock was broken and the front sight canted (I'm getting a new outer barrel of steel for free. Any suggestions as to what I should use it for?). No problem, as I already had a real-steel wooden stock set lying around. The rear sight also looked kind of silly, so I put a real one on it. I also spray painted and baked the whole front end of the gun. For some reason, VFC had decided only to have the receiver painted, while the rest was parkerized. Very silly indeed.
After fixing the finish, I got a real-steel gas tube for it, and put a VFC dummy bolt in there as well. Realizing that it still was missing something, I bought a Dboys GP-25 for it.

And then, I suddenly got a bayonet as well

After all this, my Samsung S2 was starting to get a little jealous, so I got a wooden case for it and refinished it to something more Soviety

There are way more pictures on my Flickr account, but I didn't want to flood this entire thread. The pictures should be clickable.
All questions are welcome :)

regardless, if you don't get a lemon, congratulations
best big-gearbox mg i've ever used, especially since the stock hopup can take .25s out to 175 feet
you'll want to get a flash hider either off cncwarrior or a real one and the 14 to 18mm thread adapter off that one guy on ra though, the stock one is horrifying to behold

I had a dream last night my family was giving me money for my now-late birthday but it was just pizza in mail boxes
I saved up to it for a few months, but having a job kind of does that. Yknow, having disposable income and stuff.
I'm 16, I have nearly 4 grand saved up already for college and have no need to drive. I'll have nearly 600 when my tax return comes in (and a lot more once I sell all my crap) but my Jewishness refuses to allow me to spend a single cent of it. Quite possibly the ultimate 1st world problem.
EDIT: Another shot of the degglehod for an otherwise D- pageking

No need to drive and talking about not spending college money like its some special feat. Yeaaaaaah.
I already have college money set aside and I have some money for personal stuff such as airsoft.
$4k is enough for like 4 weeks of college
I'll probably set aside a good 400 or so for my trip to commieland so I can get all the kobra optics, flora and k6-3s in the world.
I'm a suburbian Asian American with an engineer dad and an architect mom. I don't have to worry about spending my own money for college, and my dad's giving me his old pickup truck as my first car so I don't need to worry about that, either.
As a 16 year old, I needn't worry about paying taxes or mortgage, and I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Every last penny I have is allotted towards personal spending whether it's on airsoft, plastic models, or anything else.
Why? Because I can afford to at this stage in my life.

Just because you go there doesn't mean it'll be dirt cheep.
And do you know how hard it is to get in to Russia?
nigga I set aside 1.2k for my trip to Taiwan. I can assure you 400 USD will barely buy you a legit Kobra if you're lucky.

Do you think if you find a surplus store you will be able to find boxes of K6-3s, Kobras, and Flora? For cheap? Think again.

I hope you realize the prices of russian surplus aren't much different than what we pay here for them, minus the shipping.
I spent $40 per set on UNISSUED SURPLUS taiwan ERDL and taiger. While probably cheaper compared to how much I'd have to shell out per set stateside (if I could find it ~$55-$65), still ain't dirt cheap. On legit taiwanese gear I spent about $150 (helmet covers, boots, combat shirts, BDUs), and it took a big chunk out of my spending money.
I heard that they have some stores that sell surplus goods that come straight from the military that are normally sold to army officers but can also be purchased by tourists for a similar price. I can't imagine that it would be too expensive.
EDIT: Also probably because Russia likes to churn out it's gear and has a crapton of surplus that even it's conscript army doesn't need.
hey guess what
from what i've heard
kobras are out of production
ya pesky spoilt kids
