the M16A1 and AR-10 (as in the one from the 60s not that railed bullshit legacy one) are also cool, as well as weird modern variants like the patriot
but like 99.9% of the modern ones you see in airsoft are the exact same plug and play thing with RAILZ AFG ACOG HARDCORE OPERATOR STOCK and its really just boring as almighty fuck (see: last page)
I mean obviously to the people that build them they are cool and thats fine, to each his own I guess

And MGS3 is set in the 1960s/70s so i wouldn't say the patriot isn't really a 'modern' variant.
Excepting that it has a C-Mag and I believe those are a much more recent creation, although I can't find an exact date.
It also has an internal feeding mechanism shaped like the infinity symbol giving it unlimited ammunition.

After I got into airsoft was when I got into tactical gear in general, so it was awesome to play MGS4 and say "he's wearing a CIRAS, cool". But now I'm
heartbroken that MGO was cancelled and is being brought back for Ground Zeroes or 5, which both take place before all that cool gear came out :c
But there will hopefully be plenty of cool 1980s US and soviet gear if the devs do their research.
I'm not sure of how much variety there will be though. Although I've never played Peace Walker.

I don't like a lot of things that are popular in airsoft right now, but i don't feel the need to remind everyone of the fact every time someone posts about them.
I really don't like multicam or certain other modern camo patterns that get used a lot, but i don't remind everyone of my hatred of multicam everyone posts a modern loadout using the patterns i dislike in the loadouts thread.
