How to turn your favorite soft-drink into a instant slushy

I'd assume it would work with 2L bottle. But it would take longer to cool down to the same temperature due to the higher volume.
At first I thought this was one of those "slushy magic" commercials I see all the time on Cartoon Network.
why the fuck do you freeze your beer?
because if i go to a BC liquor store where they don't store their beers in fridges and i want a cold beer within an hour i throw it in the freezer instead of waiting 2+ hours with it in a fridge

i've had plenty of times where i'll forget a beer or two in the freezer and then grab it and think it's good and just as i go to take a drink the whole thing freezes over

open them slower
open them slower
well no shit but when a man is in need of an emergency beer, taking things slow is not an option
The King of Random is pretty neat.
Very late on the update, i kind of had it working, i had the soda in for an hour and i opened it and some of it iced over, mainly due to impatience, next time around it'll be 1-2 hours for the test.
I want to try this, but I just know that the container would explode in my freezer and I'd have a lot of shit to clean up.
Put a 1 liter bottle in the freezer for 3 hours and 5 minutes exactly. Instead of pouring it into a chilled glass, I poured it into a room temperature glass and put a bit of ice in afterwards. It did start to work a little, but still about 90% was still just liquid. Going to try again soon, but I'll keep it in the freezer for longer.
I put one in a Ziploc bag in the freezer. I rate the slushie a 7.5/10. I had to tear the can open to get it out, though.
Isn't it really dangerous freezing cans since if they explode it can cut your shit up? There was a news article about a Chinese kid who got his hand sliced up from a frozen can of fizzy drink.
why the fuck do you freeze your beer?
because people like their drinks cold???
i don't get what you're saying here, do you like warm beer
this has happened a lot when I was at the coast and the only room to store the coke was to put it in the freezer
fucking hate it when you get teeth freeze from it
I used this as a joke against mates, they'd come over for a beer and I'd hand it to them and it'd be liquid as they opened it and went to take a swig the first sip was fine, but the beer froze over before the second and they'd be hell confused.
Just adding to the stories.
Put a few 500ml bottles in, I honestly didn't expect it to work so well :v:

Delicious slushy dr.pepper
I do this shit at work all the time in those glass pepsi bottlers. Never on purpose, but I ain't complaining.
I have to open my freezer really carefully, if I don't the bottles freeze up and it all goes to hellfuck
I used 2 hours instead of 3 because my freezer freezes at -1 C. Came out a bit less slushy, but this works.
I tried this, it exploded and now there's soda fucking everywhere
At least it's a bit slushy, that means it kinda worked, right?
I went to try this, but then I got thirsty and took it out and drank it before it got cold enough. :v:
I'll try again later.

I should get protective gear and some bucket in the backyard for in 30 mins I guess :v:
holy SHIT i have a glass or red slurpee now, itś fantastic
Got to thanks this guy a lot, will have soda like this from now on!
[editline]21st June 2013[/editline]
my only regret is not drinking it fast enough to let it not melt
I now have a glass of (partial) ICED ice tea as well. It didn't go as planned since there already was ice in the bottle before opening.
Also, the shit erupted when I opened so it was a good thing I did it outside and in a bucket as only my shirt and the windows have been splattered :v:

it might have 2 causes
1: irregular cooling (it was partially covered in ice blocks)
2: not enough pressure (drink might not have been fizzy enough. I should try using energy drink or something)
[editline]21st June 2013[/editline]
also, we got this drink which is so fizzy that if it falls from the top shelf in the store where I work, it tends to break open the bottle.
I tried, it kind of worked. I left it in there for two hours. When I went to look, it had already frozen inside... Guess I didn't shake it enough or what?
But whatever, it was slushy when I took it out!
works with milk?
Damn you for reminding me that I have no soda at home. Will try this tomorrow though.
Tried this with Pepsi today with my sister, worked spectacularly. I'll try it with other stuff some time, maybe Mountain Dew or Lucozade, god that'd taste good.
Tried this and it froze in the bottle.
Let it thaw and refroze it back down and it kind of just spurted a bit out the top of the bottle.
But hey at least it was nice and cold :v:
