Oh god I want to watch Star Trek, but none of all avaible channels out there broadcasts it.
Started watching the Blu-Ray remasters of the Original Series yesterday (Never watched TOS before).
Holy shit, I'm enjoying it so much. These characters! I just love everything about it (except maybe the 'main screen' showing 'outside' :v: )

I can't get into TOS, it's too cheesy for me. I do really like the movies based on that series though.
Take me to the fewrah
TOS is extremely cheesy. Just watch Arena.

But I love Shatner/Nimoy/Takei's acting :v:
Kirk is goddamn badass.
Kirk's sexual tendencies can only be rivaled by Riker, I'll give him that. I really think Kirk is too loose with how he deals with situations, which is why a lot of people actually like him. A little too space cowboy.
My favorite episode is the third reich one for a couple of reasons. Space jews that dress like greasers, and the complete almost nonchalant way that Kirk and Spock deal with everything.
Don't get me started on Spock's Brain.

Brain, brain, what is brain?
I don't want to start argument about what is better here, I just want to post this really awesome Fanfic I found
http://sfdebris.com/inprint/unity.asp
Its a Crossover of Star Trek and Star Wars, and it is pretty damn awesome.
It is very obvious that the author is a fan of both series.
It is very well written and it doesn't feel like a Fanfic at all in my opinion. This almost feels like it could be a real novel series.
Timeline wise, the Star Trek portion is sometime during Voyager's 5 or 6th season, for Star Wars, sometime before the Emperor arrives on the Second Death Star
Anybody else go to Destination Star Trek London? Me and a friend went, I thought it was awesome although the organisers were clearly all about the money. I bought some cool books and stuff, and got autographs from the five captains.
All of the captains were great when I met them, even Shatner, who I was worried would just sign and hand it over without even looking at me, but we got to exchange some words. Stewart and Mulgrew were also cool about it, and Avery Brooks and Scott Bakula were awesome, shaking hands and asking how we were enjoying the event and everything.
I am, however, a much poorer man now.

Myself and the big man.
yeah the convention was amazing, I got plenty of autographs and photo's. I got photo's with Kate Mulgrew, John Delancie and of course Avery Brooks. Plenty of autographs too, although most had trouble spelling my Irish first name, then I drank a shitload of Bloodwine and ended up in a Klingon wedding.
Avery Brooks may be the coolest person I've ever met.
Also, my friend and I stayed in the Premier Inn along the road from the venue. John de Lancie showed up in the lobby there for five minutes or so on the Saturday night, it was really surreal, didn't get chance to speak to him though.
DeLancie seemed really tired when I met him on Saturday, so our conversation was pretty brief, which just was basically a "Hello" and a thank you when I mentioned liking his role in Breaking Bad. Casey Biggs however was dead sound and had time to chat.
That Klingon Wedding was reported on Sky news!

If anyone gets William Shatner's autograph, I'll just laugh.
For you guys interested in what they had on display here's a few pics of the museum:

Really interesting read. I'm already stuck! :P
I've never read Debris's book but he does great humorous Trek episode reviews on his site.
Rewatching DS9 again. Season 1 isn't that bad at all.
So that star trek pilot on kickstarter has raised it's goal

It's so strange watching Sisko's appearance change over the early seasons, I think it's 3x22 when suddenly he looks completely different from how he used too.
Some of these women on Star Trek are beautiful. Also, Star Trek is fucking amazing and hilarious. I can't stop watching it.
I have an eternal crush on gates mcfadden

What also feels strange is going from watching DS9 with Sisko's deep voice, to watching Voyager with Janeway's high pitch voice.

One thing I noticed is that DS9 and VOY have obsessions with different types of coffee.

Picard: Earl Grey Tea
Everyone on DS9, bar O'Brien: Raktajino, from what I've seen is the only thing they drink
Janeway: Black coffee
Kirk: anything with alcohol in it.

Fixed that for ya.
