Prediction for JJ's 3rd (and beyond) Star Trek films: the fleet gets destroyed.
[editline]30th November 2012[/editline]
Must be because in the old movies people were willing to accept the ships took time to travel big distances but now they want ships to go places instantly. Meaning if there were other ships at all in the old movies they may not be able to help the Enterprise in time but in the new ones they could help the Enterprise and make it much less dramatic oh no
For Canadian fans, TNG is now on Netflix.
Its has been confirmed the US Navy Aircraft Carrier, CVN-80, will be named Enterprise (Scheduled to be Operational by 2025), announced today (December 1st) and the inactivation ceremony for the USS Enterprise CVN-65
I guess this is kind of Trek related.
Name it Enterprise-A, please.
Technically it would be Enterprise-F
-H if you count two ships in the Continental Navy during the revolution.
Hey look, a poster!

Cumberbatch is pretty awesome
I'm not feeling good about this movie, I need some trailers to show me that it's still going to be a sci-fi movie.
Well the poster doesn't scream comedy musical.

Pretty sure they'd have to really go out of the way to make it non sci-fi.
Obviously it'll need a strong moral dilemma to really be Star Trek but I think [sp]a guy who is literally a weapon[/sp] is the sort of shit that would even make Picard second guess himself about how to handle it.
So like, why do a lot of fans hate Rick Berman?
I mean shit, he's responsible for keeping the franchise alive and for 15 years after Gene died, with hundreds of episodes produced and he introduced the concept of different cultures not getting along so well, something that never happened before Gene died.
It's so strange watching Sisko's appearance change over the early seasons, I think it's 3x22 when suddenly he looks completely different from how he used too.
Before watching DS9, I was used to Brooks appearance as the bald guy with a beard, now after watching it, currently on 3x14, him bald just seems like a foreign concept again :v:
I don't hate Berman or Braga, they made some mistakes along the way but they were not out to destroy the franchise. Berman's treatment of Garret Wang however was pretty dickish.

He fired Ron Jones who made amazing music such as
Yeah, it was kinda funny though.
He's a bridge officer for seven years, does a lot of amazing things, still remains an Ensign.

One thing I found pretty sad, was how after providing a generation worth of content and keeping paramount afloat, they dumped him during Enterprise.
I mean, it's not like people just got used to Star Trek being around and the effects of over saturation.

TNG Season 3 Blu-Ray Video

So according to Brannon Braga as of November this year, "Future Guy" in Enterprise Was meant to be a Future Archer trying to repair a corrupt future

Woah Braga, what the hell? Paradox much...

I don't believe Braga about anything ST after Threshold.

TNG Season 3 Blu-Ray Video

Used to watch TNG as a kid all the time as it was often repeated. I obviously forgot all the stories by now but never forgot the character or the one where Picard becomes Borg.
A channel here in the UK recently started showing ALL of Star Trek: TNG again. One episode every day. Still on Season 1 but it's in HD too thanks the Blu-Ray releases. It's like watching a whole new show from my perspective, it's so exciting.
It was kinda a thing for me, growing up, to catch reruns of TNG every day after school, from early elementary school to high school. I absolutely love it, and it reminds me of home.

what channel? i watched through the entire run of TNG on sky atlantic but their HD broadcast was just black bars around the SD version so it fit right on the screen.

the Bluray release is still in standard format, not widescreen.
I find Voyager kinda funny. Like in one episode, I remember Kim dying, but there was this thing where he was replicated or something.
Kim Dies so many times, at one stage kim dies and an alternate universe kim takes over.
I like how as TNG goes on, you can see Riker get fatter and fatter. It's like, come on man, you were supposed to be this hunky action hero.

Woah woah woah.
Don't you talk shit about Riker.

I think the best example of it is in the episode where Tom Riker boards the defiant, he's fucking 250 pounds.
Kim Dies so many times, at one stage kim dies and an alternate universe kim takes over.
this was the most bullshit thing ever, and at the end janeway literally tells him to 'stop thinking about it' because even the CHARACTER knows it makes no sense
[editline]11th December 2012[/editline]
i think everyone in voyager died at least once
Kim has nothing on all the shit O'Brien was put through on DS9.
I wonder why he never took the commission for officer status. He's basically already has more responsibility than most of the crew combined.
[editline]13th December 2012[/editline]
One thing I found hilarious was how Kira was always fucking extremely powerful men.
