Oh man. Just watched the DS9 prison episode.
I feel like it really made an impact on me. Fucking depressing episode.
In The Pale Moonlight is the best DS9 episode IMO
Voyager was the first Trek I saw so I liked it. I can see why others don't.
Seriously the one where Paris and Janeway become Lizards and start a new species together.
what channel? i watched through the entire run of TNG on sky atlantic but their HD broadcast was just black bars around the SD version so it fit right on the screen.
Would you want it stretched? TNG was filmed and meant to be shown at 4x3.

It's dead, Jim.
Paramount is fast...
It was pretty amazing looking, really looking forward to seeing it now.
I've just watched episode 8 to 21 from TNG season 2 today... Close to 10 hours... I feel sick.
Someone must have downloaded that video...

I envy you setting through some of the bad episodes.
Were they atleast HD?

Doesn't it officially come out tomorrow?
Anyways isn't this thread for TV series and JJ movies discussion is a different thread.

Not HD... and season 2 wasn't as good as 1 imo. Still not an episode that beats "Where no one has gone before".

I thought the trailer that was used in 2D Hobbit came out tomorrow.
On Season 5, episode 15 of DS9.
Man, who thought that the bland, grey uniform would be a good idea? I get using it for the movie, but like seriously? It just doesn't look good on the station crew.
DS9 was terribad
DS9 was terribad
I really have to disagree.
It's not a TOS rehash like TNG was, and it's not a TNG rehash like Voyager was. It's different, but it's a good different.
It's darker, but it has better writing and stronger story lines. There's less "Adventures", but the way the writing and plot is handled, it streams it along. I appreciate how it steered towards a generally older audience and I like the way it challenges Gene's vision. A multi cultural society that is stretched along a vast galaxy and has all these people working together, is generally going to have disagreements and confusion on cultural aspects. I like how there's a lot of darker episodes of TNG, and in those they truely do shine.
Watch any of the "O'Brian must suffer" episodes and tell me that it was a bad show.

The one thing I won't defend DS9 about is their treatment of Dax after season 6. There was no reason to fire Terry (Jadziah's actor) and Paramount did it to launch their new sitcom with some star power behind it. There was no fucking reason why they couldn't have kept her for season 7. Another kick in the face about that is how they fired her halfway through the other shows run, "To challenge the writers to come up with new things".

I think those uniforms look great and actually what a futuristic organisation would wear compared to the pyjamas on the other shows.

I don't think it was quite that bad over all, there were some good episodes like trials and tribble-ations .

More like DS9 had some bad episodes. Most of it was superb.

To me, it kind of defeats the purpose of having the colored uniforms in the first place. You should just be able to glance at them and know their specialty, with the uniforms introduced in First Contact, you have to do a doubletake and look at their wrists to actually notice their specialty.
my answer is the wardrobe department made some new uniforms for first contact (to replace the awful mishmash of TNG and Voyager styles they had in Generations) and they didn't want to burn them or pay for them to be put in storage: solution give DS9 the first contact uniforms and voyager the remaining DS9 uniforms that hadn't beenstretched out of shape by sisko's massive balls

I'm really honestly surprised that they even let him stay at his post after he fucking destroyed a goddamn planet.

Sisko? He's the closest thing star trek has to commander adama from BSG and if yout think that's a bad thing you're mistaken
They didn't fire Terri, she left when her contract was up but then she regretted not signing back up later. I also really liked the grey uniforms. Some uniforms go past their sell by date, like the season 1 and 2 TNG jumpsuits and early TOS uniforms along with the motion pictures. Others are timeless, like the Wrath of Khans burgundy's and the Voyager/Generations uniforms.

I never complained about Sisko? I love the guy. I'm just saying. Star Fleet must be incredibly leaneant with their Captains, since Sisko does so much shit without even informing Star Fleet till afterwards.
