I want to play Crysis Warhead on chicken mode. :v:
I wonder why they edited out the ban message

I legitimately thought that post looked familiar
they forgot to mention that gta iv also put every car you got in into the last level of damage (before it bursts into flames, the black smoke), and made them accelerate non stop (even after you got out of the car i think)
damn why did i even buy gta
[editline]23rd November 2014[/editline]
i would love to drive missiles around
i remember reading about pirated copies of games that gives out screamers (papers, please and dark souls 2) i'd love to know if there's any more games that gives out screamers to people who pirate the copy

I'm pretty sure it was false, like it's a perfect story to scare pirates away, reminds me of that asian guy with a bagel picture.
Shit, people mentioned that TotalBiscuit made a video about it, but the video is private; I'm interested now, even though it still sounds like bullshit (why would TB make a video about a pirated version of the game?)

somebody should do a 100% playthrough of this

Both of those screamer DRMs were actually just rumors if I remember right.
that asian guy with a bagel picture.
What?
What?
https://data.archive.moe/board/a/image/1351/60/1351600825387.png (it was a donut)
There was a buzz around a year ago that opening this PNG will install a super 1337 haxxor virus that will randomly activate a screamer on your pc
What?
It was just some picture of an asian guy holding a powdered doughnut, and people kept saying that it was a virus that randomly made a screamer pop up after you see it
Of course it was entirely bullshit but it got a lot of people :v:
fear 3 made it to where enemies would slowly ramp up damage and hp counts throughout the first level, making it unplayable by the time you were 1/4th through it because you'd die in 1 hit and enemies would take full magazines to kill
worked fine for me
I liked Serious Sam 3's one. An invincible enemy that moves at the speed of sound and chases you throughout the game.
I liked Serious Sam 3's one. An invincible enemy that moves at the speed of sound and chases you throughout the game.
I kinda wanna see someone do a speedrun of them completing the game with that chasing them.
I have a legit CD copy of GTA IV and the DRM thing happened to me for no reason once :(
[editline]23rd November 2014[/editline]
i wasn't even using a trainer, it bugged!
I had the same problem until one of the latest patches and I posted about it here on Facepunch and then I got accused for pirating it several times until I posted a photo of the thread in the background with the GTA IV discs. Then people went "oooh, it's legit. Sorry then" :v:
I kinda wanna see someone do a speedrun of them completing the game with that chasing them.
Well, there is a mod that can bring them into the legal version of Serious Sam 3
Its even more chaotic when theres more than 3 players running away from them :v:
Wait, isn't the 3rd antipiracy measure completely illegal? It's installing a trojan on a pirate's computer, then posting their personal info.
oh no
[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
why did they bring it up
oh no
[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
why did they bring it up
Have fun to live in shame, again. :v:
Atleast you're popular now.
I'm surprised they didn't mention Serious Sam 3, that invincible pink scorpion that would follow you around.
it's even weirder as they showed Serious Sam 3 in the intro
i thought for sure they'd mention it
I'm surprised they didn't mention Earthbound/Mother 2's anti-piracy measure. On pirated copies of Earthbound/Mother 2 the difficulty was FAR higher then the legit version of the game (ex: enemy encounters were far greater then in legit copies) and if you somehow managed to get to Giygas, the game deletes all your save files and then freezes and crashes.
same for Earthbound
same for Earthbound
but thats what he was talking about
It was just some picture of an asian guy holding a powdered doughnut, and people kept saying that it was a virus that randomly made a screamer pop up after you see it

So that's why people freak out when I see that picture.
I was wondering what was so special about Araki eating a doughnut
Red Alert 2 makes your base blow up if it detects a pirate copy.
Me and my friend found this out after we installed the same copy of RA2 to two PCs so we could play over LAN. I changed the CD-key in regedit on the second PC and boom went the base. :v:
I liked Serious Sam 3's one. An invincible enemy that moves at the speed of sound and chases you throughout the game.
Not possible. If you somehow get past that invincible enemy, right when you are going to fight some beheaded kamikazes, you will constantly look up.
but thats what he was talking about
He means Earthbound was also in the intro
I'd probably do something like that for my game
1st level will be totally normal
2nd quite a bit harder
3rd will be WAY more HARD
4th will make the game run at 15 fps and all enemies 1 hit kill, 2x the number of enemies, no health pick ups or ammo drops
and the rest of the game will be like that until like 75% of the way where it'll instead break the games core files and save files rendering it unplayable
maybe even combine methods and have a survey at the beginning of it asking for the pirates info + collecting their info, it would send the info to the local police / a creepy NPC will follow you through the entire game
[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
you mean like pirating the game?
Doesn't justify shit, it's like cutting off the hands of someone for shoplifting some chewing gum: barbaric and inhumane at best, just like that sick, sociopathic garbage posted above; and over something so puny and silly it's even worse.
Doesn't justify shit, it's like cutting off the hands of someone for shoplifting some chewing gum: barbaric and inhumane at best, just like that sick, sociopathic garbage posted above; and over something so puny and silly it's even worse.
do you actually believe this is as bad?
I don't think I've seen such a awful example in a very, very long time. It isn't even SLIGHTLY close
they illegally pirate the game and can't play it / their info is sent to the police so that they can be fairly dealt with for pirating the game. It's hardly over reacting. They EASILY could put fake info into the survey, too.
oh and boo hoo they have to deal with the game breaking on them that they pirated
we aren't taking them into a fucking dungeon and cutting their hands off, jesus christ, get your head out of your ass. I didn't say they should be doxxed and tortured. What are you doing?
[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
Am I in the Rust section or something?
did I just get trolled?

Did you just equate trolling software pirates with dismemberment? :v:
Sorry, I can't even take your argument seriously now.
You can share your argument that J!NX's ideas are overkill without reaching for melodramatic hyperbole, you know.

Of course it's an overboard exaggeration, just as their "trolling"
Trolling is something like the shooting chickens thing or the vuvuzelas, not that vindictive shock value/harrassing/life-ruining bullshit.

it's a computer game dude, and if u get a cease and desist notice from ur ISP for pirating a game, that's enitrely your fault
There's also Arkham Asylum's countermeasure where gliding is disabled so you keep falling into the joker gas early in the game.
