ID isn't mediocre... :c
You're right, it's fucking terrible.
You're right, it's fucking terrible.
excuse me this isn't the unpopular opinions thread
The Way of the Gun has one of my favorite ending shootouts, but the rest of the movie is just boring. Spoiler, naturally.
I found the opening scene deceptively interesting..
ID isn't mediocre... :c
Don't get me wrong, I like ID too. But its not exactly a "great" movie. Its a decent big budget summer blockbuster. Nothing more, nothing less.
A beautiful and creative scene. IMHO the movie was pretty good, but I know many find it mediocre
I love how during the earth being created it also includes the Giant Impact Hypothesis.

I only found out about this film after I had made lord0war my username on lots of things, and now people always ask me if it was inspired by the movie. In reality I just thought the name sounded cool.
LOOK! IT'S AN AMETHYST! :downs: The Core is a fun movie.
-video- LOOK! IT'S AN AMETHYST! :downs: The Core is a fun movie.
Regardless of how many flaws and holes The Core has, it is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love the film to bits, and that scene you posted is definitely one of the reasons why. I really wish a film that was like The Core but actually good was made. I think it has a lot of potential to be a really awesome film.
Terrible movie, but such a good guilty pleasure watching cavemen fly jets, killing aliens
Sunshine Not a mediocre film per se but it's brought down by its second half. It probably could have made a strong argument about our over reliance on technology...
Certainly this scene was one of the most memorable scenes for me. This movie was definitely a diamond in the rough. This scene definitely hit me in the feels. It was one of the most memorable scenes because I didn't expect it in an Adam Sandler Shtick. In a mediocre movie full of cheap laughs and scenes, hidden beneath was a very powerful and dramatic scene. When Michael finds out his father passed away (due to the skipping years and parts of his life), he visits his father's grave. Michael asks the Morty (angel of death) to take him to the time when he last saw his father. After watching this scene for the 30th time I still cry (especially when I see the "I love you son" quote and the expression on his dad's face). What is your most memorable scene in a mediocre movie (whether it's mediocre to you or had negative/mixed critic reviews)? Feel free to share below.
This is so fucking true, even though I actually really liked Click.
This is so fucking true, even though I actually really liked Click.
I did too.
Christ, now I remember that scene from Click gonna go cry in a corner now
The second half of click was a big downer
I fucking bawled my eyes out at the climactic scene in click [sp]family comes first ;_;[/sp]
[editline]27th October 2014[/editline] oh wait nevermind equilibirum was not mediocre
excuse me this isn't the unpopular opinions thread
This is a popular opinion at least here in Denmark. ID was a fun movie when I watched it for the first time, but you're not 10 forever. To be fair, it's made by Roland Emmerich, so it's not like you should have any expectations. I don't get how you guys can appreciate this turd, but fair enough I guess.

Adam Sandler can be pretty good when he tries. Spoilers inbound [sp]His character's family is killed on 9/11 and he couldn't cope with it, and has been going through his life without acknowledging their existence ever since, or talking about it, until this moment of the movie[/sp] I guess it's not really a spoiler, but the leadup to this scene throughout the movie makes it more powerful. Reign Over Me is the movie, pretty good I thought, but being an Adam Sandler movie everyone looks over it
[editline]27th October 2014[/editline] why are my media tags not working? the rest of the videos here show fine with the tag, the link is also fine.
it's mediocre like the day after tomorrow just a standard, bland disaster film cool special effects for the time though
Making "standard, bland disaster films" shouldn't be okay, though. You're basically just saying "I was stuffing popcorn in my face the whole time, so it doesn't matter that it sucked". Not every film needs to be a masterpiece, but I think it's insulting when a director just goes "yeah let's just do what we always do I don't care anyway".
Skip to about 10 seconds in
About Time was a great film, nearly made me cry.
