I'm glad avatar lost to someone else.
But the way everyone is going on about it it's like two and a half billion dollars isn't enough for James Cameron.
I saw The Hurt Locker ages ago. That movie is amazing, I'm glad it won best picture.
inglorious basterds deserved best picture frghgr
Agreed.
I personally loved the movie, didn't mind the characters or the plot, but the hyper obsessed and delusional Avatards make me want to tell them to bring a gun to their heads.
On /tv/ they were so fucking obsessed, all the time saying "NEY NEY IS MAI WAIFU :3", I had to tell them (Please forgive me) about the multiverse theory and that in some universe she was real to prevent them from getting depressed.
Now I feel bad about it because they'll continue being delusional.
What have I done.
brb disproving multiverse theory.
Sure Christoph Waltz deserved the award, but what about Melanie Laurent? She was pretty awesome as well.
If I remember correctly when they did the showed montage for Horror movies they showed a clip of Twilight... what the fuck? How the hell is Twilight even scary?
oh! the fans are pretty scary so I guess that counts.
The scary part is that the movies are successful.
Man, just thinking about that, I'm gonna have nightmares tonight.
Inglourious Basterds should have won best screenplay and best picture.
But it was still hilarious to see James Cameron lose to his ex-wife.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.
When they were doing that whole retarded dance to the various movies' soundtracks, you could tell they really half-assed Fantastic Mr. Fox. The dancing was half-assed (compared to other movies) and the song selection was terrible. It was just the opening music (lazies) but it would've been really cool if they did some other song, like this:
hahaah, whaaaat?!
Oh fuck, now I'm very happy the hurt locker won.
Jesus christ that's funny
A funnier thing is that he lost the rights to terminator in divorce settlements with Gale Anne Hurd.
It won best original song.
Crazy Heart won.
Crazy Heart won.
What? How the fuck did I fuck that up?
I'm glad that piece of shit Avatar didn't win the coveted Best Picture awar-wait. The Hurt Locker is a piece of shit as well? What the hell!
Guys the chances of Up winning Best Picture were minimal. I mean, Beauty and the Beast is considered the jewel of the Disney Reinasscence, got nominated and didn't win.

beauty and the beast is overrated
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were great and the short that they played before they announced the winner for Best Animated Feature was great.
The "No One Wants to Do It Alone" song was great.
"Who is nominated for Best Actor?"
"Oh there's Jeff Bridge and *stares*"
"HEY LOOK ITS JAMES CAMERON" *puts 3D glasses*

Compared to some other movies yes.
Compared to some of the newer Disney movies. No.
District 9 won nothing. Absolutely nothing. What the crap?
I wasn't really expecting it to win best picture or anything, but I was definitely expecting it to walk out of there with at least ONE award!

Fookin' prawns stole all of the oscars.
i thought district 9 was much better than the hurt locker personally
stupid academy
I wondered about two things,
-In the award for "Best Documentary Short", "Music by Prudence" won. Some lady interrupted the recipient of the award and went on some unintelligible speech. (Explanation here?)
-For the whole segment where they had figures of Hollywood that passed away, Farah Fawcett wasn't on there.
Storyline: A man creates a Avatar for a MMORPG called The Blind Side, and got on the District 9 server to get An Education, and got accessed to the locker, until bandit enemies came in and blew it up as it become the The Hurt Locker, the bandits become Inglourious Basterds that were Precious, then the man became A Serious Man and went Up, Up In The Air!

what the fuck?
Why the FUCK out of 10 movies wasn't The Hangover up for best movie. That's bullshit imo.
Avatar didn't win :byodood:
FUCK the hurt locker, i never even knew it existed until this morning!

I only heard about The Secret of Kells for the first time at the Oscars. I thought it'd be a cool movie based on the previews I saw on Youtube, but it actually turned out to be kinda disappointing. I don't know how to describe it. I guess just... Not a lot happened. It seemed like it was leading up to something more interesting and a lot of shit didn't happen as coolly as it could have.
Animation style was cool though.
But Fantastic Mr. Fox was better.

Like what?
It's a historically based movie. What, do you want Brendan to use a book to melt a bunch of vikings and then fly to the moon?
I loved both films personally, but The Hurt Locker did outshine Avatar when it came to story. It was a close to real life portrayal of what really happens. Its kinda funny that a smallish film like that beat a $500 million dollar film. You could feed half of Africa with that money. :psyduck:
It didn't beat it though, just with some award. But really, all that matters is how much money a movie makes.
District 9 got ass raped by the jury. Should've one best picture and best editing. Sure as hell has a better screenplay than The Hurt Locker as well, but that Oscar should've gone to Inglourious Basterds. I was, however, very pleased to see Jeff Bridges and Christoph Waltz win. How Sandra Bullock even got nominated is a complete mindfuck.
Overall a pretty weak year. 10 nominees and yet not a single one left me stunned.
