Not necessarily? It's what your religion commands you to do so. If you go against your religion, then you're pretty much going against your own religion. That makes you a dumb religious person. It's like breaking the regular law and calling yourself a law abiding citizen. And I'm not the one who brought up the religion topic. Self defense? Qur'an: Kill all non-muslims unless they convert into Islam. Qur'an: Women are inferior to men. The story of Umm Qirfa. Do they sound any self defensive to you? Yeah, they are fake.
Except the Qur'an tells you to allow women to own land and business? Something the bible never does? Thank you try again.
Religion is more a cultural thing imo, it's definitely not constricted to a book. I've heard a lot of these people make their own opinions about life. The fact that it's being used as an argument that you "aren't a true Christian/Muslim if you don't GO BY THE BOOK", is quite funny.
Except the Qur'an tells you to allow women to own land and business? Something the bible never does?
And it says women can't be a leader, govern a group, lead men, men can beat them up if they disobey, and men are allowed to rape their wives. gg would play again m8
The Bible says these things yet you hardly see them applied in a modern existence, despite many people having claimed that the Bible influences their lives. Do you see the point?
In a modern society you mean.

If people wanting to live in a country is a problem every country in the world is frustrated with, that says something incredibly depressing about the state of our world.
Here in Luxemburg we have to get loads of immigrants and refugees to contribute to the EU and such. But people are generally pissed because they have huge advantages, a lot of people are also profiting from it shamelessly. Usually those who come here are the assholes, I knew a few people who work with such guys. The ones that are really friendly and honest try to get back to their country in order to live there again. We have a lot of problems because criminality increases quite a lot. Unfortunately I had some incidents with a few of them.
If people wanting to live in a country is a problem every country in the world is frustrated with, that says something incredibly depressing about the state of our world.
You speak the truth :)
Large quantities of people moving into a foreign land has never been a good thing, I'm not some crazy blamethejews zionist conspiracy nut, but whenever mass migrations have occurred it has meant the beginning of the end for the host country, be it through conquest, tribal migrations, colonization, etc.
If people wanting to live in a country is a problem every country in the world is frustrated with, that says something incredibly depressing about the state of our world.
What about the native Americans, the indians, then? I'd say they were pretty frustrated with the new arrivals and guess what happened to them, lol.
You speak the truth :)
It's funny because you're both americans.
Large quantities of people moving into a foreign land has never been a good thing, I'm not some crazy blamethejews zionist conspiracy nut, but whenever mass migrations have occurred it has meant the beginning of the end for the host country, be it through conquest, tribal migrations, colonization, etc.
[citation needed]
[citation needed]
I'd say the extinct native american population is a good enough example. [editline]20th July 2012[/editline] Oh look, you're american too... Is this a coincidence?
Economic arguments against immigration are just lazy attempts to cover up for ethnic bigotry. You don't fix economic problems by reducing the number of people in a country and more than you fix healthcare by exiling the sick.
Economic arguments against immigration are just lazy attempts to cover up for ethnic bigotry.
By Odens hairy nutsack, are you serious right now? So what, you suggest we keep a high immigration no matter how much damage it does to our country? "Hey, atleast we're not racist". That's bullshit, you can't run a country like that. It's irresponsible.
You don't fix economic problems by reducing the number of people in a country and more than you fix healthcare by exiling the sick.
Not reducing, but slowing down immigration. Nobody's talking about kicking out a bunch of people.

So how come the United States didn't collapse with massive Irish, Asian and Italian immigration during the 19th and 20th centuries?
So how come the United States didn't collapse with massive Irish, Asian and Italian immigration during the 19th and 20th centuries?
Easier to assimilate? Despite what some antique people who think the "no irish need apply" was ever really in practice, it was pretty uncommon and there really was no real established ethnic group beyond "white". As for Asian and Italian immigration it was not as massive as old school politicians might have said it was given that they both make up around 5% of the population today after maybe 1 1/2 centuries.
And comparing that to Swedens recent mass-immigration: Since 2006, we've had almost 100 000 immigrants - equivalent to around 1 percent of the population - to Sweden every year. 2006 the number of immigrants was 95750. In 2008, it was 101171, which is the highest known immigration figure in the history of Sweden. During the period of 1982-2001, Sweden had the highest number of asylum applicants per capita, after Switzerland, of a total of 20 countries surveyed in Europe and North America.

People claim it's up to interpretation and choose what is taken literally, metaphorically, etc. Does it matter if they fucking follow it word by word either? It's better that they don't.
There are rules and commands Quran directly asks people to follow. If Qur'an/Bible asks you to kill non-believers, you are to kill non-believers.

There's a lot of immigration to New Zealand as well, there are about 58,000 Cook Islanders who live in NZ, as opposed to 12,000 that actually live in the Cook Islands. I believe there's also some sort of advantage if you want to come to New Zealand from some of the Pacific Islands, I can't remember what it was though, no passport or something, can't remember. Add to that the massive Asian population that also comes to New Zealand, this place has a lot of immigrants, but the scary thing is, New Zealand's population is pretty small (somewhere around 4 to 4.5 million), so immigrants (especially the Asian ones) make a difference in how both society and the economy work.
There are no other ways to percieve a solid, obvious order. If Qur'an/Bible asks you to kill non-believers, you are to kill non-believers.
According to you. Ask any believers why they don't and I'm sure they'll give you an answer that has to do with interpretation.
According to you. Ask any believers why they don't and I'm sure they'll give you an answer that has to do with interpretation.
According to me? According to the language system. "Kill non-believers if they don't convert into Islam" means "Kill non-believers if they don't convert into Islam"
According to me? According to the language system. "Kill non-believers if they don't convert into Islam" means "Kill non-believers if they don't convert into Islam"
I thought this debate is about immigration problems. Since when did it turn into a religious debate. Also, emigration happens when the government fails to provide work opportunity to it's people and immigration occurs to other nations. But it's human nature. If man don't emigrate, we would never been able to populate the entire planet
Also the statistics speak for themselves. Police commands complain about them since most of the criminals here in Portugal are Brazilian and the next majority of criminals are African. Most of them don't even look for work, they just get here and live of social benefits.
Do you have any proof of this at all?
I think immigration is ok, but the law and control should be stricter. I love having diversity but I can't stand when foreigners disrespect our country as much as I don't like strange people in my home abusing my hospitality.
It's their country too if they make it their home. And seriously? Your "hospitality"? What have you ever done for Portugal?
But hey, I'm just speaking for what I see here. I'm totally ok with foreigners here in general.
Except for the part where you don't like them if they're Brazilian or African. I'm not even sure what you hope to accomplish by bringing it up besides making a snide quip at an American poster. What do Native Americans have to do with the post you quoted? I can't even comprehend their relation to the post.
Meanwhile in the UK, there's a lot of it.
