I can't wait for Chocobo racing in HD!
Hey wait a minute, that looks familiar... So THAT'S where that build went!
That was a Last Gen PS3 build. FFXV is now using a PS4 build with much fancier tech.
I hope it has the same scaling system in Kingdom hearts. That way we can battle anywhere we please and not get fucked over for not gaining experience. You know, because every RPG game has that one place you want to stay in forever.
I really wanted it to be that good ol' classic turn-based combat from the golden times of FF.
On one hand, so would I, since it would fit it more. On the other hand... It probably wouldn't be as fun. I'd say it takes a bit of patience to play with the old system nowadays. the voices are god awful.
And now people like Spoony are flipping out, saying this game is a rape and defilement of the original And I thought the Undertale snubbing infamy of the Game Awards was a pointless shitstorm
And now people like Spoony are flipping out, saying this game is a rape and defilement of the original And I thought the Undertale snubbing infamy of the Game Awards was a pointless shitstorm
And then you have this guy, the exact opposite of the spectrum: (slight volume warning, he doesn't have his usual mic) He's also one of the very few who recognized FF7's intro from the Smash Bros trailer of Cloud right off the bat. I never been a FF fan, never played any but if I had to choose, I'd go with the remake because the gameplay looks a lot more engaging then the turn based system. I don't dislike that kind of system but if I get to choose, I'll go with the one that allows me to move freely, like many adventure games do. And for those who played it, you get to replay the game with the same story but in a totally different way which is almost like playing a new game entirely.
finally a proper combat system. glad people are scrapping turn based because they can't make it fun like paper mario/mario & luigi/stick of truth. i now feel like playing a ff game now for the first time.
if you're trying to criticize the turn based combat of the earlier FF games while having never played one you're probably an idiot.
If you don't like the remake, we still have the incredible original game, though. Plus, it looks good.
Let's not forget the fucking music we're gonna get
This game also has a lot of cinematic moments that the PS1 just couldn't do justice, it will be awesome to see them fully realized.
The gameplay trailer looks amazing, but a part of me feels like they're going to arbitrarily split the game up into "chapters" and make you buy those because of how big-budget this looks. Still, pretty wicked.
Let's not forget the fucking music we're gonna get
The few bits of music I heard here and there from FFVII, I really loved. This is great, because it seems like it will be the exact same. No remix or anything of the sort. Fantastic. Will this come out on PC or will it make me get a PS4? Either way I'll have to get one of either of those since my PC runs stuff like CSGO at mid settings and I only have a PS3. I know it isn't TRUE free world roam, but its pretty close.
I guess this is where FFXIV's cash flow has been going, considering Yoshida's reluctance at expanding his incredibly small dev team.
I really wanted it to be that good ol' classic turn-based combat from the golden times of FF.
I appreciate that they're changing the combat system to actually give it a more cinematic feel since that's the goal of that entire remake to begin with.
pretty cool how they're totally remaking the game. makes me wish they'd do the same for legend of dragoon, but I don't think that game would ever receive the same treatment
I'd love a Chrono Trigger game that looks like this, wouldn't care if they kept the same combat system, I want it.
Can't wait to cry from[sp]Aerith's death[/sp]in HD now. (major spoilers) I seriously can't wait for this, though. It's been a long time coming. Plus, that music, it brings joy to my heart.
Can't wait to cry from[sp]Aerith's death[/sp]in HD now. (major spoilers)
as much as i hate to say this, the event which you spoilered is literally one of the most well-known events in video gaming to the point that there's a porn site named after it everyone who knows games probably knows it or has heard of it, and Square themselves constantly poke self-aware humor and references about it that often aren't very subtle [sp]like using the Aerith assist in Dissidia 0012 while fighting Sephiroth, where he'll almost always instantly whip out a Hell's Gate downward stab to attack her[/sp]
Yeah, I figure since the game is almost two decades old basically everyone should know, but y'never know.
Yeah, I figure since the game is almost two decades old basically everyone should know, but y'never know.
not everyone played game or forgot about that moment and you like to keep it that way before replaying in this remake
this looks gorgeous and the music's not as bad as i thought it would be compared to the original

The few bits of music I heard here and there from FFVII, I really loved. This is great, because it seems like it will be the exact same. No remix or anything of the sort.
Keep in mind the music in the trailer is from a live concert 6 years ago and probably won't be in the actual game. There's still a chance they'll fuck it up with shitty remixes.
I hope barrett loses those corny glasses.
They went for a cyberpunk feel, but there's no reason for Barrett to use shades at night...
Another thing to note from that trailer is the fact it's still at the Mako reactor, so im curious given todays age if there's going to be some like massive outrage over legit being a terrorist at the start.
I dig the change to a more real time combat system, I'm sure we'll still have the lengthy and bombastic summons to look forward to though. Here's hoping they keep the goofiness of FFVII in tact too
I havent played any FF other than the original 7, so to me from this video, it makes the combat environment look like a hack n slash title because nothing much is really shown except some very basic attacks. Still cautious about the battle environment and the voice acting. However the graphics are looking good [editline]6th December 2015[/editline]
I hope it has the same scaling system in Kingdom hearts. That way we can battle anywhere we please and not get fucked over for not gaining experience. You know, because every RPG game has that one place you want to stay in forever.
ff7 didnt even have that much grinding in it until you wanted to get master materia, even then it wasnt that bad
-snip-
Jesus Christ Cloud looks like a recovering heroin addict.
Legend of Dragoon's been shafted unnecessarily hard. They even planned Dart for All-Stars Battle Royale and had a model and everything, but it got canned.
wait what are you serious what the hell
Jesus Christ Cloud looks like a recovering heroin addict.
Person kicked out from SOLDIER (Military fighter) after barely joining and having to fight [sp]Sephiroth which got him skewered through the abdomen and watching Zack die in front of him while entrusting Cloud with Zack's "legacy".[/sp] (Previous stories / Crisis Core spoilers) can be quite a traumatic experience to be fair.
As someone who was born in the late 90's, I wasn't old enough to play FF7, or had a PsOne. When I did, I was the idiot who played KH that featured [sp]Aeris[/sp], Crisis Core, and watched Advent Children 1st. It felt a bit jarring when I found out that FF7 Cloud wasn't a total brooding anti-hero when I finally got around to playing it. The things he did would be things that KHII or Advent Children Cloud would never do.
I love how we're at the point where the graphics of the remake can actually look like the prerendered CG of the movie spinoff sequel
Another thing to note from that trailer is the fact it's still at the Mako reactor, so im curious given todays age if there's going to be some like massive outrage over legit being a terrorist at the start.
I hope they don't change things too much in regards for that. I liked how at the start of FF7 you just think you are doing the right thing and it makes you think "hey, maybe not" later on, but it isn't shoved in your face.
