I don't understand what the hell is happening in Australia. They stopped playing it on TV at the beginning of Season 5 saying "Supernatural will return later in the year".. And now I've had to watch that elsewhere and I'm really far behind.

Going to be giving this show a whirl soon and was just wondering a few things.
I'm a pretty big Buffy fan so is this show at all similar in the light-heartedness of that show? And does it have season long arcs or anything?

Never watched Buffy, but you do have season long arcs but not all episodes will address the main plot and can just be the brothers hunting

If you like Buffy, you should definitely like Supernatural. It's got a little different feel to it, since Buffy had more of an ensemble while Supernatural is primarily about Sam and Dean. There's plenty of humor mixed in with the drama, and the show never takes itself too seriously. Season one is mostly stand alone episodes (season one of Buffy was the same way), but later seasons do develop longer story arcs.
All of the women except for jessica and their mom are guaranteed to be hated or disliked.

The show does develop longer story arcs, season one is the only season consisting mainly of stand alone episodes.

Buffy was definitely worth the craptacular first two seasons in the end and Babylon 5 had a terrible first as well.
So I'm definitely used to TV shows having weak first seasons, going to be picking the first season up at the library in a couple of weeks since I'm currently burning through Buffy again... almost done though.
I've watched Buffy about 4-5 times from start to finish. Good show, I like it better than Supernatural.
There's too much brother drama in these episodes. For the last 2 season now it's been the same thing - something wrong with sam, dean takes a fit over it. Still not bad to watch though.

Yep. Buffy was a great show, though I admit I liked the spin-off Angel more.
It was supposed to be on last week, but CW thought that they would have competition with American Idol, so they pulled both Supernatural and Smallville off and put a re-run on the new episodes of Nikita and Vampire Diaries. Unfortunately for CW, this backfired and there was no competition with American Idol.
Shit hit the fan on CW forums that night.
Good episode. I liked.
Gonna watch it now.
