Warcraft died long ago, maybe even in 2005. This movie is the epitome of "beating a dead horse".
I miss the Warcraft 3 days when I'd jump on custom games right after getting home from school.
Looks quite awful. The art style doesn't seem consistent at all, things stick out too much.
This is going to be so bad. They really should've just done full CGI and not this odd mixed thing they have going. It just looks so goddamn awkward.

Warcraft didn't die in '05. WoW came out in Nov '04, it was probably more alive then ever.
It's dying now, but it wasn't dead in 2005
Cringecraft: The Movie
God damn and it's good too, they gave the orc and human a lot of personality in just that small amount of space.
What was wrong with making a full CG one.
was it cost? time? what was going on
Probably a mix of time and desperation to get subs back into WoW, especially since they plan on releasing Legion after the movie.
These trailers need the goofy narrator from Warcraft II.

"What do we need to get folks hyped for the new Warcraft movie?"
"I KNOW, DUBSTEP!"
This shit looks like a fan film.

Oh my god is that Obi Wan Kenobi.

Dubstep and one liners and terrible cuts. I really hope this is just the marketing aspect of things completely missing the point of what a cinematic Warcraft experience should be.
Oh my god is that Obi Wan Kenobi.
I'm pretty sure that's a dwarf

And I'm also pretty sure that The Prodigy is not dubstep
What the heck is going on in that last scene where he slides underneath the orc? It's like he effortlessly cut straight through him.
*magic*
seriously, any human would be crushed by getting hit by 1 of those massive clubs, that dude in the first scene for example would be a fine pink mush, but he will probably survive

very likely cost and time, they can spend a year having a small crew working on the cinematic trailer thats 1-2 minutes long, but to do a 2 hour movie would be difficult

They could've gone full CGI and toned the realistic down a bit in favor of style. Would be both cheaper and look nicer than this.
I was excited for the movie but this trailer is just, so underqualified. The CGI and live action is mixed really poorly together, if this is hand picked trailer, I fear for how many of such crappy shots the actual movie has.
So far seems like they're keeping true to the "most videogame movies are bad" meme. They could've replaced humans with fitting CGI and it already would've been so much more consistent.

Just look at this, it's like they made an intern who had never touched after effects before do this part.
the orcs are cgi, the monsters are cgi, the dwarves are cgi, many of the sets look like cgi
so why did they go with human actors
because then you will enter the uncanny valley. It works with orcs and dwarves and such because they do not look like humans in the first place
because then you will enter the uncanny valley. It works with orcs and dwarves and such because they do not look like humans in the first place
Because it totally helps to have humans who are standing out of literally every shot.
because then you will enter the uncanny valley. It works with orcs and dwarves and such because they do not look like humans in the first place
this is simply not true
there are hundreds if not thousands of 3D works out there that have managed to portray humans without going into creepy territory. blizzard's own cinematics will show you that
because then you will enter the uncanny valley. It works with orcs and dwarves and such because they do not look like humans in the first place
yes because 3D animated humans definitely fall into the uncanny valley

oh wait, no
they don't
Again I'm gonna put it up to a time thing, trying to have both the Warcraft Movie and Legion in the same time-space to get a mega booster shot to WoW.
Hasn't this film been in development hell for like 10 years.
All the money and time wasted on it they should have made it full CG from the start.

Oh fuck I pray we're not getting a Duke Nukem Forever.

that sword has been sharpened to an edge of single atoms which subatomically slice through matter.
To be honest, I miss the old Warcraft mood, it was way darker than today. Looks too much like "The Hobbit" nowadays, take a look at this:

It feels way more desperate and dark (kinda like Diablo 1 & 2 vs Diablo 3)
human's shouldn't be that tiny compared to an orc
i mean yeah orcs were bigger but not that much bigger, it should at least be reasonable that a human could fight an orc >.>
Still think I'll enjoy the movie in any case. But that just seems to be me.
Oh my god is that Obi Wan Kenobi.
No it's leonardo dicaprio
