also regarding UNI choices, choose one with a good establishment and one that suits you.
Oxford requires a certain ethic of people, they ask you weird psychological questions that you have to get "right" to get in.[/QUOTE]
Not sure where you heard that, but all I had was an academic interview where they asked me questions on nothing but chemistry.
i know people who went to cambridge, left with firsts and were unemployed for 3 years before getting a job in a toy store
university is what you make of it and what you make of it after.
go oxbridge
Contrary to what other posters say, I do think it is important that you have time to go out and play sports and drink.
University is not just about getting a bit of paper and nothing else, it's about your development as a person also.
Sure, you can't beat an oxbridge qualification academically, but how does that stack up to an employer vs someone that's done volunteering, been the president of society x y and z, been in the first team for squash. Of course it depends on your job, but aside from really high level stuff, employers are looking for more rounded candidate now.
If you think the workload of oxbridge is going to tire you out and not let you do those things, then it's worth thinking about. If you have the academic ability to do well, not get stressed out, and still have time for the rest of uni.
I have a friend who got into oxford after being remarked up by one UMS mark and couldn't take it and had to quit early, and is now about to start a new course at Durham.

FYI all I'm at York now, and I'm incredibly glad I came. I already love it. :)
