Lolicon, should it be legal or illegal. - General

When it's drawn, it can't be compared to anything real from an objective POV. The girl or whatever drawn might look like a 10-year old, but maybe the drawers thought that the person in the picture is supernatural or something. In most cases it's pretty obvious that that wasn't the intention, but that doesn't mean that the drawer can't argue that. In my opinion it shouldn't be illegal, but that doesn't mean that I agree with it completely from an ethical point of view.

I find it gross, but it's just a drawing without any sort of victim, unlike actual child pornography.

However you seem to be arguing that it's morally wrong, which I don't think should really have a role in Law. Sure, many things are morally wrong, but in order to have complete freedom of speech / expression / whatever, you just have to deal with it. You can't just pick and choose what you do and don't like, that isn't freedom.

Stop all sources of satisfaction for these mentally ill people.[/QUOTE] Actually, I saw that documentary too, it wasn't jail, it was a privately owned facility that they could go to as part of their sentence, though, with that they're pretty much in for life unless they can "prove" they've been rehabilitated, which of course no one ever has.

I think it should be completely legal. If someone gets off to drawings of kids, who the fuck cares. It doesn't hurt anyone.

Legal. The point of banning child porn was to attempt to stop child abuse. No child is involved at any point in creating this stuff, so there's no grounds for banning it.
