Highlights - General - Facepunch Forum

It's pretty useful in a number of ways. But there seems to be a problem with long titles, they just get cut off. Like this one [url]http://www.facepunch.com/content/179-Man-upgrades-Windows-from-Windows-1-all-the-way-to-Windows-7[/url]

Is there a way to disable highlights on the front page or at least have it stay collapsed?

So it doesn't annoy anybody else that, for example, the HL evolution thread was posted 5 years ago, but on the highlights bar and at the top of the article page it says it was posted 2 days ago?

No it just means it was highlighted two day ago

I just can't see the point in having the highlighted date under each item and at the top of the articles, it just seems like pointless information. Whereas putting the date it was posted seems to make more sense to me. If you highlighted 1 per day, it would make a little sense: "the highlight of the day for...."

Garry, can you make it so that you have to click on highlights to show it by default? It gets kinda annoying having to close over and over again because I'm on a notebook and I can barely read some of the forum sections with my screen being squashed by it.

Would ratings be okay to show in the highlight post and/or the ability to rate the post from the highlight section?

Does anybody think Highlights should be added by the ratings system? If there are perhaps an abundance(100 or more) of positive ratings(Winner, Zing, Informative, Friendly, Useful, Optimistic, Artistic, Agree(applicable only to threads)), it'll automatically be on the Highlights list.
